* Every day I wake up hoping Tumblr will have fixed the tag system so it saves previous tags one has used as it used to. Every day I am disappointed.

I am so tired of zapping NAZI/TERFs and spam bots. Related question: why are so many porn spammers also Neo-NAZI TEERFs?

* I've been kind of sluggish and the cats have been extra clingy which I attributed to my system still being off from the meds experiment that failed. Tuesday, Livia tried to herd me back to bed three times. I caught squirrel coughing when he came out to eat. I reminded him to COVID test, which we're being extra careful about because it's bad here and ripping through nursing homes along with RSV and Influenza. They have it at his job, so he's being extra careful, but still.

Several hours later, I started coughing, and it escalated fast as these things do with me. We're both negative for COVID, so likely he brought a cold home and spread it. Honestly it feels like my standard respirator virus situation, not post vax crappy. I alerted the Millennials and called off Wednesday errands. This was clever as I was too ill to sleep properly and every time i drifted off the phone rang.

On the upside the people in charge of breathing meds have finally accepted my doctor's second attempt to renew my prescription after them calling me daily for a month and a half and me telling them that the doctor they keep faxing doesn't work their anymore and them prete5nding to put the new doctor's name in the computer only to call me the next day for an identical conversation in which I have to explain about the old doctor having left in February etc.. I know they talk to a lot of people but they only have three people calling and it was A MONTH and A HALF. It was like none of them had any memory of me having had this conversation before with them, often just the day before. Sigh. I try to be super polite to people with jobs like that because it's a rotten job, but I admit to getting a bit snippy towards the end.

Anyway, I can stop rationing lung meds now.

I did finally get reasonable sleep in the evening. If you are reading me on Tumblr, I didn't get to the posting news part of the evening. This is why.

* Tuesday: The shot still hurts, but is diminishing. The original joint pain itself is dramatically better, though still twingey. The secondary and tertiary pain associated with it that had basically taken over my head and shoulder is down to the more acute secondary areas. I had a brutal headache all evening, but given the extreme pain levels the last couple of weeks I'm not particularly concerned at present, though I'm monitoring that situation because pandemic.

Assuming I didn't catch covid at the specialist office this was very much worth it.

* Wednesday: My suspicion that the headache and general crappiness was temporary and likely connected to extreme pain and shoulder treatment is looking correct. I am learning the new geography of my pain. I hurts terribly if I touch the joint, and I still have limited Range of motion, with extreme pain if I do something stupid like try to adjust a pillow Or get a plate out of the cabinet in the kitchen, but tping is a lot easier and I can carry buckets if I don't ttry to lift them above my waist, which trust me is still helpful for the fish and plants. I am finding weird pockets of stabbypain within the general duller pain that is my head neck and torso, like islands of no in an unpleasant lake, but this is bearable. Last week wasn't.

I'm am still really worn out from ll of it and my bdy decared a spasm night, which is no particular surprise given the givens.

I'm still fighting the piss pond situation in the fish tank area. someone started pissing half on half off the pad, in such volume that it was getting up under the pad and making puddles. Itried a double sizze pad under the belief that someone standing in the box would have to piss on the pad, Right? Wrong. They pissed half on, half off the pad again, despite one of the edges being a Livia and a half body length from the closest box edge. so it's not accidental. It's now escalated to massive piss pools that I'm too disabled to cope with at the rate and volume we are discussing.

Both front boxes were cleaned and I did a no pad experiment. Woke to find an epic piss lake again. Sigh. all four boxes are now clean. I switched out the office box for the open box that seems to be the issue. The open box is on a piss pad where I can monitor it when I'm working. IDK. On the upside whoever is doing it is very well hydrated and not pissing blood.

The ACA, which 45 is trying to actively destroy, already does this. It's literally right there in the law. Indeed, part of the urgency republicans feel for getting rid of the ACA in the middle of a pandemic that can cause serious permanent disability is to not only prevent the sick from getting health care, but to make sure they won’t be able to get health insurance in future so they might afford medications and care they need going forward which would cost insurance companies money.

If Republicans have changed their minds on this policy goal, why not withdraw their suits to strike down the ACA? This executive order does nothing; it’s just political theater.

* So it turns out the reason they didn't send me for the expected COVID test Friday, was my nurse was out sick (not with COVID, she's fine). Apparently the sub was supposed to call me back and make an appointment for the ordered test, but I fell through the cracks and she was all, wait, where's the follow up on the pathogen and the shoulder?

So today I went down there and they sent me to the COVID hut. My belief that my oxygen level was likely fine was born out. I hated the test itself, but it was not nearly as bad as I was imagining, if that makes sense. It occurs to me in retrospect that I was remembering that time they stuck a tube down my nose without anesthesia at the ER and i bled off and on for a couple days.

Given my symptom set and medical history, she prescribed an antibiotic for the lungs. I'm going to see how I feel tomorrow before I start it, because it's strong and I'll need to go off my AS meds, plus, it's possible my immune system can beat it itself I want to give it another day or too to make the attempt. Seriously, right now it's a nuisance illness. Any lung thing has a chance to dangerous escalate given my immune system is much more interested in own goals than pathogens, but this doesn't feel like a particularly bad one just now, just the usual cf carrier nonsense that happens multiple times a year. The cold symptoms are solving themselves except for the sinus/runny nose/ear stuff which can as easily be at least half allergies, since this is the season for it. A rhinovirus should solve itself tomorrowish or the day after, which seems about right. Generally I pick up a bacterial secondary infection if I catch anything else or really if my bodies under a hint of stress and when I shifted from the dry upper respiratory cough to the deep in the lung wet cough I got the usual bacterial type results.

Better safe than sorry, so I'm following protocol for Covid. Squirrel's off work and we'll have results before he needs to go back in. Seriously though? It's likely going to be negative.

The pharmacy runner was only half listening and tried to get me to wait inside, because we had a chilly Alaskan wind off the bay ad I was just in a tee shirt. I was like, "I don't think that's safe; I don't want to breath on anyone even with masks. I think I should sit over there." Me pointing to an outside spot. Him: Oh right! Yellow Protocol!

I expect results in 2-3 days, this being a well run blue state with a robust health care system. I'll let y'all know, but don't panic, okay?

* In cat news, Tavy knocked over a bunch of pillows, which panicked Livia who clearly though the sky was falling. She instinctively ran for the safety of my bed. Which was comfortable. Really comfortable. She was wary, being afraid we'd come medicate her again, but next time I wandered by I offered her a finger to sniff, but otherwise left her alone. Next time, She let me pet her butt after the finger sniff. Time after that, she let me scritch her head. Squirrel came by after I'd warned him not to stress her out and she let him pet her butt. She was in there most of the evening. When I came in to go to bed she let me rub her tummy, which she hadn't allowed sine elder kitty, because she only wants a tummy rub if 1. she feels really safe and comfortable and 2. If she has room to roll around and that doesn't leave many options besides the bed and my bathroom. Once I was ready settled, she came for most of an hour of loves. She didn't sleep in the bed, but it's progress.

What little sleep I got today was massively and repeatedly disrupted. I may or may not get much accomplished. We'll see.

* I had to give Tavy a time out for unnecessary roughness late last night, but things are more normal. She stayed in the bed when I got in. Alas, he made so much fuss she soon fled, but she half draped on me twice during my sleep and he didn't start any fights over it, so that's a win.

* Today I woke with the shakes (it's a chronic illness thing I've been "enjoying" since my teens), but after a half hour reset dragged myself out for forage anyway, barely making it in time. Errands were slow and exhausting and involved line cutting (I totally backed up the women ahead of me over her wtf on getting sharked by some guy who decided he was too important to wait in line) and the guy ahead of me at a Downtown intersection nearly got T-Boned by an asshole who decided he was too important to stop for stop signs. I did all the things though, including two phone bureaucracies.

I came home to a Gothmas prezzie from my sister which turned out to be a statue bust of a Vampire who kind of looks like our Dad, which makes a kind of sense. I have put him next to the Gothmas tree for now while I decide where he ought to go long term.
