* Tuesday: I did end up getting about three hours of sleep before the Millenials dropped off this week's perishables. I put them away, did physio, sorted laundry and pre-washed the few dishes I left to soak last night and started the dishwasher before the social services interview. Which went well, I think. Las time we did this a few years ago, we were just above the line, but it sounds like we are probably just below it this time. I need some extra documents from Squirrel,but heating assistance would really help. I then gnawed through a ton of paper and phone bureaucracy. The library reopened today, so I made an appointment for Friday curbside and took back the massive back up of returns.

It was a little chilly, but my shirt was long sleeved so I didn't bother with a coat. I found a bunch of new bureaucracy in the mail box when I got home, so I did that while food cooked. A I ate, Tavy and I watched snow flurries outside. I grew up in snow country, so I didn't expect them to stick. By the time Livia finished her nap the sun was out full force. I'm sad she missed it.

I am still having a massive amount of trouble with my body, but the temp lung meds did turn up yesterday evening and I am finally taking all the temp meds at the same time as I was meant to. I do think there is mild lung improvement already, but we'll see. (We think the current issue is inflammation again from the recent long infection, plus stuff to do with my current serious stomach issues. the idea is to tackle both at once and see if it helps. The new physio regime remains brutal chronic pain wise, though I think it's not chewing up my shoulder like last time we stepped me up. This is sort of a half step up, so not as rough as the one that damaged me so badly late October early Novemberish. Anyway, we'll see if my body can adjust.)

It's a lot to deal with at once. I do still have one more phone bureaucracy I should do, but I'm bureaucracied out, to be honest. This was A LOT of adulting.

* I think I wrote this Monday: Tavy and Livia had a rough evening. Late afternoon they chased the grad students doing socially distanced and masked sunbathing off the lawn so they could power wash the gazebo. Tavy thought the workers were hissing and growling at him and he spent a couple of hours sporadically hissing and growling back.

Something's also clearly on fire near enough to us that the nasty smoke smell and lowered air quality are really messing with me.

Then the smoke detector went off, panicking the Imperial couple who ran out to see if I was scared. Long silence. Me: Could it be the smoke? Detector: CHIRP! Imperial couple *panics* I double check to make sure nothing inside could be doing it and turn on the hood and the bathroom vents just in case. Detector: CHIRP! It was too sporadic to be reacting to something. It went off again while I was putting on my shoes.

I bought two new 9 volts braving the store before it closed. Luckily it was sparsely populated and people were following the mandatory mask and distancing order. Luckily, there was just enough left on a card to cover two 9-volts. Let's hope I don't need meds again this month, shall we?

My arm is borked again, but it was finally cool enough for squirrel to sleep, so my unsteady ass climbed the ladder. I had to let go the lintel to futz with it and it still wasn't fixed. I made multiple attempts. I ended up waking him after all. Turned out it was my bedroom detector a couple feet away from the one I was trying to fix. Or possibly both of them. IDk. We spent an hour between us. I had two cats hiding under my desk for most of it. I had to go collect Elder kitty from the top of the thirty in the middle of it, as those lights are fragile and I'm scared she'll fall. (The light on the twenty she sits on is sturdier and the tank is a lot lower. She can get on and off easily. I've seen her thinking about trying to straight jump off the thirty). I've had to do this once or twice most nights since her stroke.

The Imperial couple did eventually come out to lounge around the livingroom where they could see me and each other, but they are jumpy. While I was writing this, I blew my nose, and Tavy jumped high in the air sideways off the sofa landing about 5 feet away, terrifying poor Livia who couldn't work out which way to run.

* Wednesday: I had that thing where when I tried to get up the first time I almost threw up from the pain. I opted for extra medication and comforting the Imperial couple, who are understandably distressed. Livia in particular is taking it hard. At one point she was wandering around the area where elder kitty died squeaking plaintively. Elder kitty had warmed up to her enough that they would hang out together a couple of feet apart just like Livia wanted, and they'd been extra close after the first stroke. She kept waking me up for reassurance, poor thing. Tavy's just generally been discombobulated for the last week and a half and he needed a lot of extra cuddle time this evening.

Once I did make it up there was a lot of cleaning to do. The bed to strip and change, boxes to tend to, livingroom soft furnishings to hand clean and febreeze, and lots of little things I'd been too busy to sort out properly between the ongoing right arm issue and Elder Kitty's rapid decline. There will be more of that tomorrow if my arms are working well enough.

We all miss her.

* Livia still doesn't have much appetite and they are both clingy and unsettled. I can't blame them.

I can't seem to make any headway on the pain situation. It's my own fault; I keep moving in my sleep. I'm usually more disciplined than this. I think it's a bit of a spiral. I was undisciplined a couple weeks ago once, which made me feel crap so it's harder to remember to stay still after I drift off. When I'm awake I try to roll it back, but even the magic tub can't shave off enough to undo more damage than I do when I sleep. I am out of tricks. I would call the doctor at this point, except I know perfectly well there is nothing to be done, but endure and try to keep my meds down.

* I know this sounds like concern trolling, but Sarah Palin's incoherent word salad really worries me on her behalf. I am hoping she was drunk, because it sounded a little like some people I've known with stroke aphasia. I don't like her, but I wouldn't wish serious brain damage on anyone. It gives me chills to watch her unable to put sentences together, stinging words together that make no sentence, over and over. Yes, some of her speech was the usual string of nonsense buzz words and lies that she and Michelle Bachman specialize in. That's not what I mean. I mean the sequence where she kept trying to make sentences and random ungrammatical words came out in the rhythm of speech but making no sense at all. It genuinely alarmed me. I hope she's okay. If she was just drunk or high as fuck, It's okay to laugh, but if it's brain damage we're all assholes, so I'm not sure how to react here.
