* In person bureaucracy errand turned out to be disorientingly in the same building as and down the hall from the people who did my root canal. There was an extra fifteen minute wait, as the lady who unlocks the doors was out sick and the lady replacing here was from another office and didn't know she was meant to do it. I flagged down someone going in the employee door and asked when they were opening. “It opens at eight. What time is it?” “8:15. It’s still locked.” It was quickly sorted and the rest was way faster than the old process with the only wait being for copying, which I did not have to do myself, so wins all around even if I did have to deal with a much longer hobble and the dangers of stairs.

The place with the good veg and starts that closed last year reopened with much shorter hours and was only two blocks out of the way on my way home, so I went and sat for fifteen minutes while I watched them open up, scoring some nice tomato plants and fresh fruit and veg for cheap. The short hours mean we will go their rarely, but I am glad they are back.

The for profit people that took over payroll for home care givers so disastrously two Januaries ago, are jerking around a big chunk of home caregivers over pay for May and June. Head Millennial has email saying very specifically they aren't, but their website says they are, which will be a hardship for them and me both.

Things will be very rough the next few months if we can't sort it. (We are both trying to sort it, and have been for several weeks, but have made plans for the worst case).

For profit is so much worse than government direct control, but no one ever asks me about these things. Sigh.

Saturday evening squirrel and I had a thing out in the big blue room, and i was gone past Midnight. I am still catching up on reading a posting a whole bunch of news I flagged to look at Wednesday and Thursday. I'm doing my level best, but there was just a lot of news last week and my lungs keep yoyoing depending on if it's raining or not. I slow way the fuck down when I can't breathe. Luckily we are have a summer much like a couple decades ago before the climate change really amped, so the rain is on my side. Problem is it's clearly not just an allergen situation. If it were just pollen I'd get a lot longer grace period after it rains. I'm guessing forest fire smoke is blowing in from somewhere because about an hour after each rain my lungs go bad really quickly.I'm sleeping under filtration with clean hair which helps and doing all the other little tricks, but the whole randomly half suffocating thing is exhausting and it's truncating my prime getting things done time.

I tried to figure out how to explain my emotions about this to those of you too young to remember the War, let alone the Sarajevo Olympics, but I simply can't. Sorry. It's too many things, most of them hard to convey to people for whom these are footnotes at best.. Suffice to say I needed tissues and some away from the computer time. Those of you who know me in person likely have heard my children of Sarajevo and Clinton Administration Ignorance and Islamaphobia story, which is the only thing I've ever been able to say that explains even a little part of how I feel about that War. I'm not up to putting it into writing tonight.
