Saturday evening squirrel and I had a thing out in the big blue room, and i was gone past Midnight. I am still catching up on reading a posting a whole bunch of news I flagged to look at Wednesday and Thursday. I'm doing my level best, but there was just a lot of news last week and my lungs keep yoyoing depending on if it's raining or not. I slow way the fuck down when I can't breathe. Luckily we are have a summer much like a couple decades ago before the climate change really amped, so the rain is on my side. Problem is it's clearly not just an allergen situation. If it were just pollen I'd get a lot longer grace period after it rains. I'm guessing forest fire smoke is blowing in from somewhere because about an hour after each rain my lungs go bad really quickly.I'm sleeping under filtration with clean hair which helps and doing all the other little tricks, but the whole randomly half suffocating thing is exhausting and it's truncating my prime getting things done time.

* I did go out and get provisions Saturday, which used up most of the spoons. Sunday was a rest day. Monday was forage, dentist and sundry errands. So this was the tooth Asshole dentist messed up last time I had money for the dental copay, and the tooth was rather fucked up. Luckily most of this dental work is the back side of the teeth, which is usual for me. As has been the case this year generally, I had the same number of teeth needing work when I left as I needed going in as the new extra showed a new, admittedly small problem. We are still working on my left lower teeth as a result. Sigh. On the upside it is clearly helping. At the same time this was a bad one and I ended up having to take one of the mid-level pain pills, which I then threw up. Charming. So I hurt and am miserable and generally queasy, but I've hopes of better sleep tonight and Tuesday being better. I did use up most of my leg spoons for the day.

I have opted to pay property tax instead of all the bills but insurance this month on the grounds that housing is always first. It has to be. This means I absolutely have to do an auction this month to try to make up enough to pay at least one of the bills I'm ignoring in favour of spending nearly all my social security on securing housing the next six months. I expect to be something in the neighborhood of two hundred down total, but I won't know how bad it is until mid-month when the other shoe inevitably drops.

We are trundling towards the end, Essex finally having destroyed himself yesterday. This book is so damned good, but I expected nothing less, having read his Tudors back in college.

* I actually managed the key elements on the Wednesday to do list. Forage happened. I put meds and library off on the grounds that tonight was present making night. There is something deeply demoralizing about making three batches of cookies and not being able to eat any. I did meringues for mailing, as they are light and stay fresh in a tin longer, and did the classic butterscotches you put preserves on for locals, using the yolks. Tomorrow we wrap tins and they mail early Friday. I'm so tired.
