* I only got threeish hours of sleep for Monday, and spent all day out in heat and allergens or a waiting room. It was very worth it, given the results, but I am burnt and there is no real rest until Thursday.

I lost two hours of sleep to that thing where I wake up coughing and can't stop, plus pain and sensory stuff making it hard to get back to sleep once my body calmed the fuck down, plus a very long and distressing phone call from the doctor's office.

so I lost my incredibly cool superstar doctor in... was it February? The replacement turned out to be cool and we were going to do an appointment on a different topic every month until he caught up because my medical file is war and peace plus Moby Dick plus the whole of the Wheel of Time saga and takes ages to get a real handle on, and I very much need a Doctor who takes things like my lungs and joints seriously.

I liked him. He was charming and cheerful and well vouched for, but he's an older gentleman, and my may appointment got rescheduled as did the June appointment, and I got worried he might be having health issues. I don't know if the whatever I was led to him retiring or if something way more serious happened, but he's done and I'm to start from scratch with a new Doctor and no clue what if any prep they got before taking over the degenerative disease library that is me.

I hope he’s okay, wherever he is.

I am less worried about the trans stuff than i would normally be. Me and another trans person pioneered trans treatment at this clinic, and because the nearest trans services were down in Seattle back then, not counting the transphobe endocrinologist who rarely took new patients, they got a massive influx of trans people once we spread word of mouth that they would take us. back then it was really basic and we had to educate them, but once they realized how desperately they were needed, a second and better doctor started taking trans patients there, and then they started doing periodic how can we improve services and do serious training, and taking people on who were interested in learning.

They literally changed the clinic name because a lot of queer folk in poverty were afraid to go there. People who aren't comfortable with trans bodies, preferred names, and neo-pronouns don't work there and we are all incredibly lucky to have this clinic. I've been the first trans patient in a lot of specialist and surgical practices It is always a little nerve wracking and I had to do a lot of 101 for doctors and nurses over the years. I am pretty sure I am safe here.

It's the whole 'will they think I'm a hypochondriac or a drug seeker' thing that plagues all chronic illness/chronic pain patients that makes me wary.

* ...And no call and no cleaner Tuesday. I had to be up anyway for the medical social worker, but I'm becoming rather miffed.

* Management banned all flags in the complex this year to stop me putting pride flags in my windows. Our plan is to hang them inside the regulation white curtains instead of outside them and see if they send us a written notice to take them down. The white curtains are thin, but it's not clear how visible they will be at different times of day and night. They are up. The progress flagg is somewhat visible when backlit with the light still out. I'm not convinced the chevron Queer Flag will be. When I loop the curtain and not the flag, more of the flag is easily seen than not.

We thought of some other loopholes. I have a compliant white and blue chair on the porch. Head Millenial will be painting pink stripes hopefully next week if we can get the stuff that makes paint stick to fabric. The stripes won't be the right order, but we can at least have the colour.

We went to the Dollar store Wednesday in search of rainbow pinwheels, but all they had were red/white/blue. Sigh. A friend bought a big flower pinwheel with the correct number of petals and has undertaken to paint it pride flag colours.

We also plan to report every US flag we see when it gets close to July 4th as the wording bans those too. If you ban flags, you better not only enforce on minorities.

So here's the thing. We are all really poor, but we are also angry. If you have good cheap suggestions for how to make pride stuff without actual flags, please, please write in. Most of the Millennials are good at DIY and we are all very much in the mood for malicious compliance.

* As of Friday, the cleaners haven't turned up the last five times they've been scheduled. I spent an hour on the phone with they Asshole Agency, mostly on hold, getting cut off "accidentally" before the operator got an answer from management. The second lady double checked my phone number so she could call back if we got cut off. This too was a lie. Remember, every time they cut me off, I have to start over, waiting on hold for an operator, explaining from scratch, them trying to reach a supervisor.

Am I being blackballed? Inquiring minds want to know.

In any case I have to wait up for the imaginary cleaner, then call the Asshole Agency to ask if the cleaner has cancelled, because once again they didn’t bother to call, which means i lose nearly as much sleep only no dishes are washed.

PRIDE Loophole Update: The Progress shows up fine at night. I have to loop up the curtain to reveal the queer chevron.
