* Republicans are refusing to let the bill continuing health benefits for 9/11 first responders on the grounds that it has broad bipartisan support and would surely pass, and the Republican leadership believes that the 9/11 first responders are takers who deserve to die for being foolish enough to selflessly rush to help instead of running away when their country needed them and that keeping them alive is a waste of money wwhen we could save that mony to use for give aways to corporations and the 1% who are the only ones deserving of government entitlements.
Republicans are happy to wave the Bloody shirt, but won’t put their money where their mouths are.

* Paypal was uncharacteristically quick, so I mailed my ebay today, then did some food shopping. When I got home, I converted the tree lights to the pattern for the back half of the season, which ended up taking a couple of hours due to a key mistake back in September. The string of white lights I hang the SF ornaments from is showing signs of aging, which means I should likely add a replacement to the list of things I need to raise money for. Sigh. It looks lovely though. I have a whole other box to sort and set up, which ought to wait for late November but which I will likely do soon out of anal retentiveness, plus rigging supplementary lighting in the dark corner. Annoyingly, I have had a package waiting downtown since the 30th I didn't know about and could have picked up while mailing today, so I guess I'm going to have to do that, likely Wednesday.
