* Last night I discovered the refrigerator is defunct. Also the kitchen faucet fell off when we tried to use it. I'm now kind of fucked for surgery money, as these were more expenses I wasn't expecting and things are now rather tight. I have come to loathe the previous owners. The crusted filth they left behind, the broken things they could have told me about after we closed, the whole not disclosing all their debt which surprise raised the price on the unit last summer.

* RP: Tiger Rescue and Ghosts (We only had three players, so we did small scale things):

Gwallog's special friend took him to the gardens. Afterwards, he took him on a tour of the menagerie. Fumiko followed them in fox form, unnoticed by guards. The Tiger stealthed over the wall. Gwallg "distracted" his friend while Tiger talked the big cats into not fighting each other. Fumiko freed the Cheetah and Tiger lured it into Gwallog's magic bag. Unfortunately, Fumiko couldn't open the Tiger cage. Gwallog "hugged the lock from afar, doing enough damage for the Tiger to later break it. The noise worried Gwallog's friend who hustled him out and warned his brother to get the guards. Tiger bagged the Tigeress and her young and gave the bag to super stealthy Fumiko to sneak out. Guards quickly discovered the big cats were loose and the alarm was raised. Fumiko took her time geting home freaking out the group. Guards were out searching the city for dangerous beasts. Tiger suspected that the Tigress might be his sister. She was caught attacking livestock in the mountains, and Tigers are not native to Spain. Tigress said her mother walked the mountains, sometimes on two legs. Tiger took the cats to Pondacherry.

When Tiger got back, he insisted they go look for his Mother. (The Caliphate and by extension the Emirates was fairly religiously tolerant. People of the Book had to pay extra taxes and alcohol sales were generally banned in cities, but healthy communities of Jews and Christians carried on and Monestaries/Convents were allowed to keep going and making alcohol. Wealthy young muslim Men used to go to them for drinking parties which was a lucrative business for the Religious Houses. They also served as Inns for Travelers). They stopped at a double foundation monastery for the night. They heard sobbing and saw a glow from a well. There was a ghost lady in there. She did not speak Arabic and turned out to speak an archaic Celtic dialect. The Romans took her baby and she drowned herself in the well rather than be enslaved by the troops. Owl took them to a different part of the spirit world where they saw the Romans slaughter her village and take the women and some of the children as slaves. They later learned the girl was taken far away to be a domestic slave where she died in a natural disaster. The group made a ritual to try to call her ghost if she ha one. The summoned the unquiet dead from a rather wide swathe, in a creepy cavalcade. Their targeting of the girl's spirit worked though and they drew her from across the sea. Mother and Daughter were reunited after some confusion. (The girl did not know her birth name and didn't speak the same language. They had to translate). All the unquiet spirits from the area were laid to rest.

* The the night before, and the day Peter O'Toole died, I was randomly watching "Lawrence of Arabia." This movie always makes me think of "Mad Dogs and Englishmen" for what should be obvious reasons. This in turn, but me in a Noel Coward sort of mood.
