Nov. 22nd, 2013 01:52 am* Thanks to extreme austerity imposed by Germany and the IMF, Greece is now in it's sixths year of solid recession. The IMF, feeling that their economy has not yet been damaged enough is demanding another 2 billion of cuts. After all, if their hadn't been extreme austerity, they's have had a chance to recover and so pay off their debt, so instead, logic suggests that they further slow the economy making it even harder for them to recover.
Don't worry, we're doing another round of austerity in the US now, since Republicans insist that a couple of centuries of economic data and the current examples of the damage austerity is doing in Europe don't trump their belief in one discredited report full of math errors and therefore, more austerity in the US will magically have the opposite effect than it does in every other time and place.
* Senate Republicans are so strongly pro-rape that they are sabotaging a defense appropriations bill, on the grounds that they believe punishing rapists is worse for military discipline than punishing 26000 rape survivors a year by destroying their carriers while rewarding the rapists:
* Let's take a moment to contemplate how much Republicans must hate our troops to discriminate against them in this systematic way:

I'm crap, but not nearly crap enough for something I don't have some coverage for. Long slow infection that takes forever to take proper hold and even longer to shake is par for the course with cf carrier. The result is, I sleep randomly and need to lie down a lot. I can putter around if I have to, as my meds mask a lot of symptoms and I'm used to feeling crappy so the difference isn't as large as it would be for someone healthy. Exhausted and in pain is pretty much par for the course with AS. I really need to do this massive stack of bureaucracy, but my head is too full of mucus and dizziness for thinking.
