gwydion: Vlad and Niran kissing (Kiss)

* The US is withdrawing all citizens and embassy staff from Yemen.

* There has been devastating flooding in the vicinity of Karachi, Pakistan. A car was swallowed with all occupants, people have drowned or been electrocuted by downed power lines. There is serious disease risk due to the sewage and garbage contaminating flood waters. Fields in the surrounding areas are underwater, which may lead to food shortages. The flooding is currently going down in the South, but the waters are rising in the North as well as in five provinces of Afghanistan. As with the catastrophic flooding in India, this is more climate change related damage. The rains are so much longer and harder than normal.

* There continue to be allegations about border incursions across the India/Pakistan border in the Kashmir region. This time five Indian soldiers were ambushed and killed by what are thought to me Pakistani military. Pakistan is denying their soldiers were involved.

* Syrian rebels have captured an airbase and some villages in the North West to everyone's surprise.

* Is anyone surprised the NSA was using their illegal widespread spying on US citizens to help the DEA bust pot dealers? Anyone?

* Hector "helpfully" woke me up an hour before the alarm. My body really wasn't cooperating with this leaving the house agenda, but while I was exhausted and in pain, I was at least not falling over all the time. I picked up key paperwork. while there was a long parking lot slog the lines were at least short. I drew yet another interim Doctor. He's not going to last so trans friendliness wasn't an issue. I'm getting antibiotics and bensotate pearls tomorrow, so I'm calling him lung friendly. I'm going to have to go back next week for the skin lesion as they hadn't time to properly prod it. Thence to do my time critical bureaucracy. It was stinky hot in the little room and it was the crappy old copier where you have to hand place each paper and no two sided copying or table for collating. I spent an hour and a half copying and collating. At least the math on the extra paperwork bits was simple. As I was collating, they came to switch out the printer for one made this century. I turned the paperwork in two days under deadline. I warned them that they might want to be slow with the processing as money is coming that will change the figures, so putting it off will save them work. Finishing this means I get to rest tomorrow.

I picked up Squirrel and we met up with Sexy Realtor. We inspected the apartment to make sure plumbing and appliances worked. It turns out I'd got the floor plans of this one and the other one in the same complex tangled and the patio is better than thought. Alas, it's the other one that has Squirrel's walk in in closet, though he gets two closets in this one instead. I suspect my room and the living room are even smaller in the new place, which will be a bit of a challenge. The current tenant is out by the 15th. Sexy Realtor joined us in mocking the scab coloured paint in my bedroom. (He's very my type and very PNW. He's also an ex-teacher, which I find kind of hot).

All I wanted to do at this point was lie down, so I cancelled my online play date and the cats and I watched Venture Bros. on the sofa.
