* There is devastating flooding in China. Given the scale of the disaster and it's ongoing nature, I could not get coherent casualty figures.

* Quebec train disaster Update. 15 are confirmed dead and 35 missing, though considering the nature of the disaster I suspect all or most of those are also deaths. Authorities are now walking back yesterday's claims as to cause.
