For some reason we are getting Campaign ads for 45that are so utterly oblivious of the death and misery and carnage he'd wrought that they seem to have come from another planet. The ad was boasting about how he'd made America great Again, as if he hadn't killed so many people by hindering the Covid response, as if he hadn't put kids in cages, killed trans women and children in ICE detention by having his agents refuse them medical care, been more corrupt than the Grant and Harding administrations put together by an order of magnitude, betrayed this country on every level, pursued foreign policy in Russia's interests instead of our own egged on police violence, praised and encouraged NAZIs and loaded his cabinet with them, dismantled systems designed to protect civil and human rights, deliberately packed the courts with incompetence, summoned soldiers and secret police to put down democracy in the capital, shredded the constitution, ripped up environmental protections, broken more laws than I can count, and on and on and on. The only mention of the economy was to brag about it as if we weren't in a recession with small businesses permanently shuttered all over the country and worse to come. I just... Can Republicans hear themselves? Do they have working eyes or ears or some other way to absorb information from the world around them. How is this hellscape of mostly self created disaster better than what we had four years ago?

And they are showing this in a college town in a blue state. O.o I legitimately thought it was a parody.

* The Georgia Primary: Oh look! Most of the voting machines in black areas weren't working and at least one place they only had one worker to check people in and sanitize. Hours of waiting in long lines, but not in white areas! After all there's a pandemic on! They also didn't give poll workers passwords to operate the machines so it took a couple hours after open to start the voting in some plces.

Oh and they didn't bother sending out a whole lot of the requested absentee ballots. Fucking Wonder if the applications for those are in the same drawer as the one where Kemp kept all those voter registrations from black majority districts instead of processing them so he could fix the election last time.

Oh and the new voting machines that don't work? Kemp overrode the non-partisan choice to give it to his campaign manager's company even though they weren't remotely qualified for the job.

Meanwhile, Iowa had record June primary turnout last week because it was all mail in. Republicans are moving to ban it so they can force people to vote in person in a pndemic in November.

* There's no fighting it. The battery is no good. He used the external charger and it seemed fine, until I tried to start it a second time and it was fully drained. I am pretty sure we replaced it a couple of years ago, but here we are.

Wednesday I had to stay up for some phone bureaucracy. Thursda I need to stay up for the mechanic and to all the HOA because they senta form letter complaint about the patio garden. As it's the same stuff that hasn't bothered them for years and I'm following the rules, I don't know what they want us to change, which means live humans on the phone in their shitty short business hours. Plus food shipment may be coming.

I'm so tired.

On the upside, the food card came.

Update: They are having construction, but it's half the price of the other option and I hardly ever leave the house, so we're dropping it off for Monday. I'd already paid first bill, but not second. The other option is twice as expensive and this is an ancient car and I am poor.

if you check on top of the battery there may be a warranty sticker with the install date on it, if so you can get it replaced for free. one of mine did that a while back.
