* In the first half of March, I suspected I had contracted a persistent, annoying low grade infection at some point. This is a normal thing that happen A LOT with people who have the kind of chronic illness I have. (I've also been having hives and mouth ulcers off an one since whatever week the lung emergency started, which is also a normal, extremely unpleasant thing that happens some times with a body like mine. I only mention this because it's particularly fucking bad tonight, and also having two of these bits of nastiness going on is geometrically unpleasant.) Nothing could be done about the infection because my Doctor was booked more than a month out. She took the usual symptom history and sample. I said I was pretty sure it was bacterial, but I'd wait for results instead of starting on the assumption I was right as this thing isn't ramping, it's persisting and the best fit antibiotic is Nasty. If it were something I thought might ramp, I take home the antibiotics and put them on a shelf until I know how it's going to go either from tests or sudden scary ass escalation. Thursday early evening tests came in. I was right again on it being Bacterial. (I am good at thing particular guessing game.)

Today I picked up the Monster antibiotic, listened carefully to the warnings and swore a solemn oath to take all the little bastards. This one has an ugly set of warnings. I've disconned my non-narcotic arthritis meds, which means I get a choice of Tylenol or opioids and nothing the fuck in between for a long ugly week. I need to watch the fuck out of what I eat, because of a hidden ingredient issue that can lead to me having a night from hell if I miss something. I was about 5 1/2 hours in when I wrote this and had already maxed out the anti-nausea meds.

This is going to be a rough ride. It needed to be done though as Thursday evening I spotted the warning signs of a ramp up and it was unpleasant enough by Friday morning that waiting the weekend was out of the question. I'm going to have to white knuckle it.
