* Rejoice, for the Car emergency is ended! I anal retentively ordered a Blue Cab for an hour before the appointment for fear of the cab coming late. I foraged, as it's just around the corner from Honest Mechanic (Alignment and Brakes Plus Bellingham). In the event things ran about a half hour later than projected with my car, but this was all to the good as it turned out that when they opened it up, the alternator was not fried as previously believed, but chock full of belt frags that had essentially frozen it in place, and labor at Honest Mechanic is much cheaper than a new alternator. The result is that there was enough left over that between us, we had enough money for the whole electric bill, plus meds for both of us and cat food.
If anyone donated and would like a refund for the meds money and kibbles, the fundraiser having only been for car repair and electric, PM me and I'll see what I can do next month. Thank you again donators. The lights will stay on at the cat asylum.
I went to pharmacy, library, and to get kibbles and spend the last of this month's food stamps on magic apricot straws. The car battery is fully charged. Squirrel got off to his game on time. As I wrote this, I was full, the forage put away, and Tavy was in his room playing with his new pharmacy bag. All is well with the world.

Accepting a pardon is considered an admission of guilt, per previous decisions by the Supreme Court
Once someone has accepted a pardon, the 5th amendment right against self-incrimination no longer applies so they can be forced to testify. (and if they are found to perjure themselves can be prosecuted for that.)
It does not protect from a) Impeachment, b) State criminal charges, or c) Civil suits.
And what someone is being pardoned for must be spelled out... so it would effectively be writing the articles of impeachment and making the prosecution's case for any state or civil suits which might apply.
In other words - he could, but WOW would it be stupid to do so. Doesn't mean he won't, just...
