* Two more Syrian generals have defected to Turkey, bringing the total number to four. Three of his top advisors were killed today in an explosion. The UN is delaying a sanction vote to see if we can convince Russia to stop supporting Assad.

* George Zimmerman wants you to know he "wouldn't change a thing" about the night he stalked and murdered Trayvon Martin. Charming.

* John McCain showed his quality again today, by calling out Michelle Bachmann and other Congress people in his own party for their religious persecution of Huma Abedin and others based on the unfounded howlings of a hate group. Thank you, Mr. McCain for standing up for values like religious tolerance and decency. http://ac360.blogs.cnn.com/2012/07/18/kth-rep-bachmanns-unproven-claim-about-huma-abedin/?hpt=ac_bn2

* I had trouble sleeping for the heat again, luckily, the rain came and I did finally get good sleep, but it meant I got started late and am generally slow. I really need to sort out the growing bureaucracy stack. I'm hoping I will have my shit together tomorrow, as the clock is ticking. Instead I'm trying to play catch up on the messes the animals made while I slept.

* Soap experiment Update: The Peppermint lavender is very Peppermint with the lavender as an accent. Sigh. I suspect for someone with a more typical sensorium it would be bracing. I find it unpleasant, especially when I wash my face.

* Fish update: Both suckermouths look fine and lively. I am running out of orange platys though. Let's hope there are fry soon.
