Dec. 7th, 2011 12:55 am* President Obama and Secretary Clinton have announced that we are going to use our Foreign Aid Program to encourage proper treatment of LGBT Folks. Yes, they included Trans Folk. Wow. In the UN, Ms. Clinton actually said, "Gay rights are human rights and human rights are gay rights." Seriously folks, this is the most Quiltbag friendly administration ever.
* I was out on errands, so missed the President's lovely speech, but the bits of it I heard on replay were wonderful. I wish he'd been this aggressive two years ago, but we can't have everything.
* I never thought I'd agree with George Will on anything, but I'm with him when it comes to Reality Show personality Donald trump hijacking the debate process.
* Some of you are too young to remember why newt Gingrich is an all around awful person. You've seen me refer to him impeaching Clinton for a blow job while cheaating on his own wife while she was in the hospital with cancer. There are much larger issues. Go google "Contract with America." This was his extreme right program. When Clinton and the Democrats refused to give him everything he wanted, he through a tantrum and shut down the government. No pay checks for all those workers. No unemployment insurance checks. All those subcontractors doing infrastructure not getting paid. You get the idea. His smug face arrogantly smarming put downs attacking those not lucky enough to be born rich while his tantrum led to folks not paying rent or making mortgage payments.... yeah. He was so incredibly proud of himself for hurting so many ordinary people and terrifying the elderly. Ick. His downfall was a massive illegal fundraising scandal so rank that the other Republicans were horrified. In another bit of gross hypocrisy he had run on the purity of his ethics and the corruption of the guy he replaced. At the time there were a lot of jokes about "Newt" being the perfect name for someone so lizardlike. Because he's so all around vile, I think a lot of us are having trouble 1. taking him seriously as a presidential candidate. 2. Explaining exactly how vile he is. Where to start with so much corruption and gross hypocrisy? It's why I've been struggling with this entry, and I'm guessing it's why people in general are having a hard time talking about him.
* I went to the Doctor and got the rest of the blood work done. Then I dropped off some more computer stuff and a bag of jewelry and knickknacks off at Good Will and picked up bananas and meds. The tea box had come, so I sorted that. I cleverly put my trade tea in a separate box while packing, so that bit was easy. I shall be rather over caffeinated the next week, though not as bad as usual as this box was heavy on green and rooibos, which is weird as tea exchange is usually mostly black.
I really wish there was an off button for Birmins, or at least a sleep function.
It turned out to be three boxes of kitchen things, not two, as a third box had been stacked with the books during late stages of evac. Sigh. Things would be so much easier if I had that spice rack. You do not know what I had to go through to make dinner tonight. On the upside... Mmmmmm... protein. I got way less done tonight than I thought I would, as cooking took forever.

It was a simple decision: he’s more important. Who gives a fuck about writing scripts if I can stay at home with him and make his day a bit happier?"
