* You may have noticed I post a lot of different articles about and interviews with various declared and likely 2020 Presidential Primary candidates. I do this because I think it's important we get a good look at all our options. In my opinion it's far too soon for me to be selecting, let alone endorsing candidate.
I will vote for whoever gets chosen for the Democratic ticket. I stand by my policy of voting my heart in the primary and strategically in the general. With this understanding and the caveats above, I admit I have a short list all ready of people I would rather not have to vote for in 2020. I will, mind you, but I really really hope we chose someone better. There are good reasons for each of them:
Tulsi Gabbard is a homophobic DINO with a long list of unpleasant statements and policy positions so odious that David Duke wanted to endorse her. Yes, she turned him down, but still. DO NOT want. I don't want Biden and Sanders for a bunch of reasons. I listed my objections to Biden last time around, s I'm not going to know. They are the same as they were. Sander's has some serious problems with a tendency not to see the way systemic racism and sexism are a major problem in this country and he's really not up to the foreign policy part of the job. There are also way better candidates already in with views more in keeping with my own to the left of Sanders. I'd rather someone who can fight for more of the things I want with less of the baggage, and that actually is a choice this time. I'm much happier with him staying in the Senate.
I admit that I have several other "I would rather they stay in Congress" names on my list, but I'm not as adamant about them as of yet. They have a lot of room left to surprise me and/or convince me that they really are the best choice and a lot of time to do it in. All sorts of things can happen between now and late Spring 2020. I've a short list of likelier names, but it's fluid. My opinions on the candidates are fluid, and so I'm going to keep watching and reading and posting stuff. Let's all see where this goes, okay?
And yes, if you really do have a candidate you are passionate about, definitely donate and/or volunteer to help them. I'm just not even close to there yet and don't expect to be any time soon.
