* Re: Al Smith Dinner. Trump told a couple of jokes and then descended to character assassination and insults without bothering to make any jokes at all. The Republican majority audience booed loudly the whole second half. It's like he didn't understand that the point of this is gentle ribbing and joke making, but rather took it as a chance to insult Hillary Clinton as grossly as possible in a venue where she had to sit still and smile instead of arguing back as in a debate. Hillary Clinton's jokes didn't all land, but she was clearly actually trying to do jokes, as one does at things like the Al Smith Dinner or the Correspondent's dinner. She got scattered boos now and then, but she actually did seem to do pretty well over all. She was also a pretty good sport throughout.
* Today Donald Trump pledged only to abide by the election results if he wins. We can't let him win, Folks. Not if we want to still have a Republic. Not if we want to slow the slide towards a Dystopian police state.

* More people than expected showed up, so we needed my office chair and I made 5 different pots of different flavours of tea and a separate meal for a vegan guest. I take my tea seriously. They are like, "What tea do you have? Me: What tea do you want? Them: ? Me: I don't have Earl Grey, but if you name a thing you want there is a good chance I'll have something like it.
I am a tea dragon. <.< >.>

* I had so much fun reading Feedback. Every time, I think Seanan McGuire/Mira Grant can't possibly get any better, she finds a whole new level. This is a book I always wished I could read without knowing it. Delightful protagonist voice, very inclusive cast (Non binary character! No one writes on binary people!), politics, and zombies. Perfection!
