* Listening to the Trump tape made me throw up a little. This on top of the habitual humiliation and sexual harassment of employees. In real life I don't stand still for that sort of concentrated misogyny. I've called people out socially and at work all the way back to my teens. I have quit jobs over it. I... honestly had no words for how gross all this is and how shitty it is that we have improved so little as a society in the course of my life that this is still considered completely acceptable behavior in the work place (the Apprentice thing) and that nearly half the people in this country consider that Presidential behavior involves sexually assaulting women because he can get away with it.

- Naked Time. See? In ToS they have hazmat suits. Why don't they still have that tech for ABC hazards when TNG rolls around? They are not GOOD suits, being not sealed at neck and clearly made of plastic tarp, but they are wearing gloves, Jordi LaForge. At least they are trying. So how did they lose the technology to make something as simple as gloves in the intervening time. So they have an unknown deadly hazard here. I don't care how awkward the equipment manipulation is, leave the damned gloves on and don't scratch your nose. Seriously have they no protocols for dealing with biological/chemical risks in Star Fleet at all? We have all these bodies who died behaving oddly, so lets ignore even the simplest precautions. At least they try to decontaminate, but still. Wait, the MASS of the planet is shifting? Why is no one calling security when things start to escalate? Definitely, one would think the other Starfleet personnel would call security once someone is threatening with a knife. WTF, Starfleet, are the characters passing the stupid ball around? I love Uhuru. Riley's rant about how women crew should dress including "Women should not look made up." Wow, sadly this brand of misogyny is all too real here in the twentieth century. Yeoman Rand is once again being followed around by sexual harassing male crewmen. I am sensing a theme. People on this ship really need to wash their hands more often. Just saying. Seriously, they know it's contagious, why aren't they all wearing gloves? I'd forgotten there was a time warp in this one.
- The Enemy Within. OMG! Dog in costume! Like the previous episode, this is another one that they recycle in TNG. Oh look! Now evil Kirk turns up in Yeoman Rand's Quarters to sexually assault her. For the record, we are now on episode 5 and this is the fifth episode in which Yeoman Rand is harassed and/or assaulted. Why is Kirk questioning Rand directly about his sexual assault of her? WTF, Starfleet! Why is her statement not being taken by a woman crewman and not her abuser? So the heaters they sent don't work, but what about blankets? They are much lower tech and Kirk's clothes seem to have held together fine. Why not send arctic rated cold weather gear and tents along with the blankets? So what if two functional copies appear for every one sent? That seems to me all to the good.
