gwydion* Looks like Assad is using chlorine gas against civilians again.
* Zika is now in more than 50 countries and territories, including Singapore and now Malaysia. It looks like it is way easier to sexually transmit than previously thought regardless of gender. They have found it in the semen of a man who never had symptoms six months after exposure. There is reason to think that it not only causes Microcephaly and Guillain-Barré syndrome, but also less easy to detect learning issues.
Zika continues to spread in Florida, but don't worry, Congressional Republicans are doing everything in their power to block all attempts to stop the spread, eradicate it, or even properly inform the public, while The Republican Governor is doing everything in his power to ensure the spread by blocking more local attempts to spread information and denying women in poverty access to birth control, prenatal care and screening etc., as part of the supposedly "pro-life" agenda. He has also come out strongly in favour of forcing women to have babies against their will in response to the zika outbreak. Paul Ryan is insisting that if we just dramatically cut funding to Planned Parenthood so as to deny women access to Birth control, Pre-natal health and screening it will contrary to evidence and logic stop the zika epidemic in it's tracks much faster than actually addressing the problem would. He is clearly too bright to believe this, so I can only assume that like the Governor of Michigan's decision to lead poison all the children in Flint Michigan thus giving a generation of children irreversible brain damage, infecting women with zika so as to give their children irreversible brain damage is a big part of the Republican Agenda going forward.
It's cruel and deliberate and unnecessary. Remember this is what you are voting for if you decide to stay home in November or don't bother to vote down ticket.
There is a scary ass global health crisis going on right now in the world and it is spreading. Now is the time to take action here and abroad to fight it, not use the epidemic as a lever to harm women for Jesus.
