* There was a massive gun battle between biker gangs against each other and the police in Waco. Nine are dead and 170 were arrested for organized crime related to capital murder. It is expected there will be revenge killings, particularly between the Banditos and Cossacks.

* I am deeply furious about two things from the last episode of Game of Throne. These are far from my only issues with the show, but I'm angry enough that just putting this together took time. I thing both these things are about a deep seated misogyny, though I expect there is quite a bit of Racism involved in the first one as well. TW: Rape
I am so furious about them 1. completely botching Dorne. They could easily have had Arrienne's rational plot for Marcella in the time they are wasting on nonsensical vengeance contradicting everything we know about Dorne; George Lucas Level shitty dialog; and badly choreographed, shot, and edited fight scenes straight out of a bad b movie from the '70's. Dorne is important to me. Dorne is important to a lot of people. They took a bunch of strong, intelligent female characters of colour and replaced them with mindless violent stereotypes.
2. Littlefinger giving Sansa to the Boltons makes zero character sense unless she was there to assassinate them and raise the North. I kept waiting for her to draw a dagger from her sleeve and Stark it up. Instead we get yet another gratuitous rape I absolutely did not need to see. This not only violates the character sexually, but violates her arc, and the character’s core agency. I am so angry it's a struggle to write about.
I have to wonder why the show writers deliberately choose to add so much graphic rape, and can only assume that they are into it, particularly given their clueless reaction to outcry over adding the rape of Cersei.
* We were talking about old fashioned musical instruments over on GoBMUSH, and we got on the topic of harpsichords, spinets, etc.. I mentioned that I heard a lot of this sort of music growing up, including the priest who used to play the virginal, which we all thought was hilarious when I was a kid. It still cracks me up remembering him.
