* I was a bit panicky yesterday due to lack luster bidding on everything but the Shark Tooth, but there was a last minute bidding war on the imps and a flurry on the partials, which was a huge relief. Everything is packed to mail. Now all I need is postage money to transfer to where I can use it to actually mail things.

* Where was I tonight? Djinni and MrBumblepants came over to record the first episode of our new Podcast. Djinni's going to edit and we'll do pick ups next week. The goal is to have a good buffer before we start posting them for real. I feel pretty good about it. It's conversational format. The first episode is mostly about why there is so much meat in the modern American diet, but also dinosaurs.

* I just read this as it had a Seanan McGuire story in it, this is pretty close to my fealings about it. "Dead but Not Forgotten:" http://www.fangsforthefantasy.com/2015/02/dead-but-not-forgotten.html

I would add that some of the stories attempted to match Ms. Harris' prose, which i think was a poor choice. The ones with smoother, more natural writing styles than the original series were generally better reads.

Note bene: I stopped reading the books at some point when I stopped caring much about the TV series as the books were not great and going steadily down hill, so I didn't know/remember everyone and if you are planning on dragging yourself to series end there are some spoilers. I could follow along fine without having read whatever number of books I missed at the end and I did have a decent time reading this despite a few duds. It is definitely more fun than whatever the last book I read of the main series was.

I was trying to think of a diplomatic way of saying "this book is surprisingly good - because while it's her world, Charlaine Harris didn't actually write it."

Oh, I could tell, but diplomacy really wasn't my concern as you can likely tell. ;)
