* There was a catastrophic mud slide at Hiroshima caused by a month's worth of rain falling in four hours. Normally, the excellent Japanese disaster preparation system would have had people evacuated, but the local government didn't get word out in time. I can not give anything like accurate figures as to how deadly it was right now.

* I apologize for not writing at length about the protests in Pakistan, but I haven't physical or emotional energy to properly research and write about them.

* At least 1350 people are dead in the west African Ebola outbreak. The Liberian government decided to quarantine a slum and panicked people attacked the guards. I don't have good figures on how many are dead or injured. People raided a clinic to take infected away, but they've been recovered and are being treated. Kenya has understandably decided to bar travelers from infected countries, which is causing all sorts of local financial distress and global political muppet arms. Supplies are already running short in several parts of West Africa, as a number of international shipping companies, airlines, etc. have decided not to risk it, which is causing a secondary food crisis on top of the existing humanitarian crisis. Aid organizations are doing what they can, but it's all sorts of complicated under the circumstances.

* RP: Africa to Rome:

They needed to Moon gate through a Caern, so the Cheetah went North to Cairo. On the way to Rome, Gwallog started to succumb to the knife, so Fumiko bagged him. Fumiko, being mildly tainted got harsh questioning at the Sybil Caern, but the Sybil told the Garou to help. She was told the rules of the city truce and to stay away from the Pope. They gave her a scrape of paper to get her in to meet their Cardinal. They bagged her and dropped her off at the old city limits. Gwallog was under control so she let him out of the bag and they summoned Karkann.

They walked to the new city walls and through the slums, all the way to the nice poart of the city where they found a good Pilgrim Inn and had a bath. While Fumiko and Gwallog were at the baths, Karkann ate and was introduced to a Frankish monk with whom he could talk. They were soon friends and the Monk offered to shop him the Catacombs of the martyrs and all the best monuments. Karkann explained that he'd love too, but they needed to do business first. he ended up taking them to the Palace and sped them through the bureaucracy in record time. He dropped them off in the correct waiting room and said he'd pick them up later for their tour.

Gwallog got sexually harassed by a mysterious whispering voice while they waited, asking him about her missing Sea Wolf.

They turned over the cursed knife to the cardinal, who had a cursed object containment box, and gave them credit for it's return in the ledger. Rather than break in a steal stuff, they asked the loan of a binding tool to capture the escaped Elder God roaming North Africa!!! Not once in all my years of GMing has a party done this the polite way. Always they ransack the archive and steal dangerous magic items that bite them in the butt.

They picked up a nice cross for their monk friend and some relics at the gift shop.

I read a book that came out long ago in 1994 called the Hot Zone and it was about the Ebola virus and other powerful, deadly retroviruses like Hanta. That's some scary stuff.

Eyes as big as houses singing lullabyes for thee! (I've had that stuck in my head, and my brain is trying to remember the rest of it.)
