* There has been rather more drama than I wanted since you last heard from me. Cable/Internet/phone cut out as I was getting ready to leave last night. This was not unexpected, as that was our switch over date, but Squirrel had hopes that they'd leave it up until we called to activate in the new place, what with him being sick. We collcted key equipment and what we we thought were "all the tails," but it turned out two key bits of wire got left. Of course. We hooked up what we could and Squirrel went back to sleep, promising to bring wires etc. in time for me to leave for the Doctor.
We set things up and I called on Squirrel's phone to activate everything, but only the land line worked at that point. At this point I turned over the phone to Squirrel to work with tech support, while I went for my appointment. It turned out the cable wasn't working because when they activated "everything" they didn't include our cable. The Internet turned out to be because our splitter wasn't giving enough juice. Meanwhile, they were an hour behind when I walked through the door. By the time they got to me I'd wasted two hours I could have spent on errands or packing at the old place. Two out of three important errands are now next Monday's problems. I picked up my ILLs and rushed home to fill two back packs with more meds, my lap top, nebulizer, etc.. I managed to forget the nebulizer ampules. Of course. I rushed home to find out Squirrel didn't need the car after all. It was at this point my body decided to melt down again. I'm eating take out curry, because my body is pretty much DONE for today.
* LM came across with Squirrel. Even though LM had spent much of her awake time over the week end searching for the missing parts of her clowder, neither she nor Mache were happy to see each other. Luckily, by the time I got home, clowder identity had been reestablished and they'd all slept on different corners of my bed. There is still the issue of territory, right of way, and degrees of dominance, so sporadic squabbling keeps breaking out. Squirrel is camping on blankets on his floor as the mattress doesn't cross until tomorrow, but his computer and TV are here. I've thrown together a makeshift work station for my la top. We'll need to rewire everything again when the main computer crosses, but I can do basic functions for now.
I think my best bet is to putter about when I'm up to it tonight between long rests and take the good meds to cut the pain down. Resting tonight makes sense as tomorrow will be extremely physically demanding and the Seattle trip starts Thursday.
