* You may have noticed that while I talk about what's going on in Syria a whole lot, I don't advocate a specific strategy. I have one caveat, which is that people have been trying to impose rules of war since as far back as the writing of the Koran. (The Koran forbids making war on civilians, for example. No really, look it it up). I've read similar attempts on the christian side from the Middle Ages on. While getting people to FOLLOW rules of war is a dicey prospect at best, people think they ought to exists, and murdering children in their sleep tends to be one of those things humans think are not okay and try to prohibit. Again, I'm not holding my breathe for people following rules of War, ut the concept of hving them is not as new as one might think.

* I simply stayed up until it was doctor time. I nearly cancelled for the tired. It turns out the coughing until I nearly pass out thing is damaging my throat. The solution? Apparently, I need to take more narcotics. No really. I have a mildly narcotic cough medicine I'm prescribed, but I hate actually taking narcotics, so I take as little as I think I can get away with. Apparently it's not enough and I need to take it twice as often until my throat heals. Hands up who believe I'm going to be able to make myself take that many?
There were a bunch of other errands I should have done downtown, but it was clear I had hardly anything left as far as spoons. I did stop to get some stuff to feed the gamers as I wasn't willing to bet I would be up to baking tonight, but I crashed almost immediately I got home. I slept in, then spent the rest of the evening watching the second season of the Misfits in bed with the cats.
