* The Fukishima Nuclear reactor has had a major leak of 300 tons of extremely radioactive water and they are raising the threat level from 1 to 3.

* It's looking like the Syrian government are using chemical weapons against civilians again, but of course Assad is denying it. Hundreds are reported dead and the footage is disturbing and support the rebel claims. Some estimates are as high as a thousand. if you google the footage be prepared for it being pretty fucking triggering. Children gasping and foaming and lines of tiny feet of the dead sticking out from under the shrouds. Look, yes, I'm child free, but I was also a teacher and I hate Assad so fucking much for things like this.

* Re: Georgia armed Gunman in a school crisis: Antoinette Tuff better get a damned raise at minimum. Schools tend to nickle and dime support staff and children need people with her combination of empathy, courage, and intelligence in the schools.

* I used all the spoons trying and failing to complete drive around town bureaucracy. A nap rebooted me enough to order our for food and do some internet stuff, but I'm not in great shape, so apologies if I'm making below average sense.

* The Inheritance money feels like monopoly money to me. After a second rest, I paid all the bills at one, including zeroing my credit card. (I immediately spent some more as I'm running out of a bath product I like.) I'm going to zero it out again once stuff clears. It's so weird being paid off all at once. If you add in the earnest money check that cleared today, I spent more money today than I made in nine months of teaching. This would be more impressive if we didn't pay teachers like we pay fast food workers in this country, but it's still a little freaky

I just can't with Linda Robertson. Her family's homophobia destroyed their son's life and drove him to suicide. Their cruelty and bigotry destroyed a young man who deserved so much better. She's then taken the death of her son - the death she caused - and branded herself as an activist with every post not-so-veiledly calling for more pity on her and ignoring what she did to this poor young man who deserved a far better parent than she was. Her posts stick in my craw - especially when she writes things like her son's hypothetical wedding - a wedding he never had chance to have because of the destruction she wrought on his mind.
