* I am having serious trouble functioning between the heat and the constant allergen exposure. As a result, I'm having trouble taking information in, which is messing with my ability to follow the details of news items. I apologize for the skimpiness of commentary on events in Syria, Egypt, and Iraq in particular. It sounds like the Syrian government is in the process of completely retaking Homs. Things are getting uglier in Egypt and people are dying. There was a massive, coordinated set of car bombings in Iraq targeting Shiite neighborhoods calculated to do the maximum amount of damage. All of this is horrifying and I'm simply not up to taking in the details. Again, apologies.

* Housing News: At about 8:30 PM, the realtor called. The bank appraised significantly lower than the listed asking price. It's still above my original budget for this, but it's a huge help. I skip sleep tomorrow to go in for us to get our proposal together. It will likely take another two weeks for the bank to decide if they'll let us buy it. *fingers crossed* We need this to work; it's way the best option and so much more viable than even the second best.

That's fantastic that it was lower than expected. I'm sorry to hear about the allergies and heat but you're such an eloquent and fantastoc writer and my source for news (seriously, you are one of the very few online news sources I read because you have so many informative things to say and so I notice no difference in any of your writing or following the news to be effected in any way. Even when you say it's 'skimpy' it's good enough for me and others who read your fascinating journal entries.
