* It was warm enough, I took the black cats out on a quick explore. This is the first authorized walk of Spring. The Butt lost so much weight I had to massively adjust his tether. There was jockeying for the best grass shoots and Mache was not pleased with all the tailgating. (The Butt outsources a lot of his thinking to the others as they are just way better at it. Mache does most of his thinking when they are outside as she has huge reserves of common sense and he has hardly any). Mache: Personal Space, Damnit! Butt: I want to be where you are! They had a good sniff of their immediate territory. They went back in easy enough, though the Butt wanted to go right back out. Then there was goosh for the whole clowder.
I am way sleep deprived, but it's no one's fault this time. I just couldn't stay asleep more than a couple of hours at a time and couldn't get back to sleep easily. In the end I let Squirrel lure me out for Oblivion, which was too long but watchable. It just took way too long to get to Morgan Freeman, especially as we'd both guessed what was going on very early. It was a perfectly reasonable action movie though. Go matinee, if you are are going, but it was pretty, so it's worth the theater. We didn't bother with IMAX or 3-D, and I believe this to be the right decision, though I suppose all the vistas and swooping might be pretty in IMAX. I don't think the upgrade would be worth the price, but YMMV.
We had a hard time getting in, as there was some asshole screaming at the poor minimum wage ticket sellers about IMAX being a rip off and how they shouldn't charge him for it. As his movie started an hour previous, he'd likely been harassing the poor kids for some time, likely in hopes of free tickets. We instantly hated him, as throwing a tantrum because one is too immature to plan to come to a non IMAX time if one doesn't want to pay for IMAX and hassling innocent folks who have no means of escape and no control over corporate decisions is a serious dick maneuver. His childishness might be understandable in a toddler, but was completely inappropriate in a man with a decade or more on me. I suggested we use the inside kiosk as Squirrel had a card. While we were doing that, the ticket folks managed to get the guy to stop screaming at them and come in and scream at the manager, who also had no control over corporate policy and the quality of the IMAX screen design. Yes, Langley is bigger, if you are willing to wait in the line at customs. I still do not see how that is the fault of the poor bastards working at the multiplex. It seems like design decisions are made at the corporate level, so he should be screaming at them and not the locals. Everyone, including security were unfailingly polite too this childish asshat, and Squirrel went up after the screamer left to shake the man's hand and congratulate him on doing the hard thing. I wish I'd thought of it, as given the shi he piled on them all, a few nice words were the very least anyone could do.
Seriously, they aren't paid enough for this sort of crap. I do not approve of spanking children, but boy that grown man needed one. How fucking spoiled and entitled can you be? This behavior is completely unacceptable. We didn't want to pay for IMAX, so we checked listings and turned up at the right time for non-IMAX. You know, like adults capable of taking responsibility for our own actions.
