* I wrote this in response to someone writing with questions about The Hot Zone and whether they should watch it, hence the weird specificity about some things and not otherrs. I'd like to add that the main cast really did do a fine job and the supporting cast did some really excellent work, particularly with face acting.
It’s a good adaptation of the book. It captures fundamental stuff about the early ebola outbreak in Zaire in the ‘70′s, and the monkey outbreak of a mutated strain near Washington D.C.. The acting is excellent, and odds are you’ll recognize a lot of the cast. I need to warn you that there is a lot of people and animal death in this. Also Robert Sean Leonard’s part is small.
It’s not Chernobyl mini-series level good, but it’s perfectly good tv if you are interested in plagues.
