Today was an exhausting plumbing saga that ended in tragedy. I had allotted 23 dollars for wood glue for the pettin throne and toilet parts. On consirding the optoins it made better sense to buy the whole kit on the grounds that the rest of the pump system was the same ticky tacky as the rest of the system and it was in budget. My friendwas sure he could make it work. We turned of the water before we left and he started taking things apart, only it turned out the pliers had wandered off in the intevening two weeks. Squirrels's truck was broken all week and he was working on it, so I have a theory where they went, but I now needed tools, and so that was another twenty, since it made sense to get a proper wrench too. It took all afternoon, and by the time we'd got groceries and took him home, I'd missed my raid.

It was at this point I discovered the leak. So much leak. I've no idea how to fix it and I can't afford the plumber and when I opened it to peer inside I discovered the chain wasn't really attached and no means of attaching it. Squirrel and I can see where the leak is approximately, but not how to stop it. I bodged the chain and there's a bucket which I'll now have to empty every few hours and I don't know the fuck to do at this point, because plumbers are beyond anything I can manage to pay expensive and building handyman charges at minimum $85 to lie that he fixed things he didn't I've been waiting a year and a half for him to fix the hole he put in my ceiling.

Bonus points, I lost all chance at any reasonable parking and had to parallel park up a step hill.

Extra Bonus points: surprise high fever. This is why I accomplished nothing Saturday night. The fever is down, but I simply couldn't do news.

That's awful!

If the water shut-off handle is at all accessible, can you just turn off the water except when you need to flush?

(I realie this doesn't fix the leak in any way, but it might minimize lifting and hauling heavy buckets of water...)
