* So I actually finished the bureaucracy packet. Inevitably, I'm waiting for a piece of paper to come in the mail, and I need to go scavenger hunt downtown for another bit I need, because of course. All of which would be super easy, except my car's gone unreliable again over the long weekend. If it starts, I'm fine, but it's roulette if it'll start. The starter and alternator were replaced in the last couple of years as was the battery and the connectors. No, my guess is, it is a small irreplaceable part they no longer make that has something to do with the belt that recharges... one of those things. It's happened before, and all the signs have been there that things have loosened up just from natual wear. My suspicion is, if I catch the honest Mechanics at the right time, they'll bodge it frre in about five minutes and it'll go another year or two. If not? Car's done with no hope of getting another. So cross fingers, folks.
Anyway, my plan is to take it down there at forage time and see if they'll tighten the dying thingie, assuming it'll start at all. Do the forage. If the car is still running, hit pharmacy, as the prescription that wasn't ready last week is down to two doses, both of which I'll have taken by the time I leave the house tomorrow, then library, then get the piece of paper I need for bureaucracy. I need to remember to check mail before I go as there's a non-zero change of the other bit of paper turning up. If I have all the paper and a working car and bureaucracy is still open, then I could theoretically do that, but my bet is I won't have all three.... Oh and enough gas to get there.
* Someone just mentioned that peanuts are legumes, not true nuts. I know I've heard that before, but it never occurred to me to apply it. I wonder if that's the crucial difference. My body has trouble processing peanuts, but is just fine with tree nuts!
