* I was recently discussing how conservative TV Shows are when it comes to abortion and have been for some time, and I referenced how when I was a kid the sit-com Soap aired a scene where three women sat around a kitchen table in the middle of the night having an adult conversation about whether one of them should have an abortion.

Me: in the end she decided to keep it, which turned out to be a mistake.

Me: Oh no! Nothing like that. The baby turned out to be possessed because the father was this priest she was in in an on again off again relationship with and the whole thing turned into an Exorcist parody for a bit.

* I did not have “half of Dracula Daily thinks Stoker was writing about sentient boobs and not their “gentle breasts” as in their tender hearts because usage has changed in a century and a quarter” on my bingo card for May 16th, but here we are.

I get it, I really do. Most people do not get read 19th century lit as bedtime stories from the age of three. I grew up weird. I automatically switch idiom, but for people who don’t have eccentric teachers for parents, this is bizarre and hilarious.

I am mostly just boggling that something about the reread surprised me as much today as things have been surprising the new readers all along. I am filled with delight in the unexpected and real amusement at the pictures their reading of it has put in my head.
