* I was over the shakes by bed time yesterday and the last of the fever faded away while I slept. I'm still feeling crap, but a better class of crap and my lungs are noticeably starting to clear. I am exhausted, but the upward trend is clear. It's a long strong course of antibiotics, so I know I'll be medicine sick later in the process, but it is so worth it.
When Tavy first came he was wearing a collar, but I stopped hearing it after the first day or two, and there was no sign of it when he finally emerged from hiding. I found it while searching for the mice he's hidden, but no small mice for his puzzle box have been found. Squirrel found his donkey last night and I put it in his puzzle box, but he hasn't touched it. I wish I could afford more, but I bought fish filters for the office tank and a replacement bulb for my bathroom tank instead, once the credit card payment cleared, and that's pretty much it for the month for the beastie budget.
Update: A little before 7PM, LM actually figured out how to fish the donkey out of the puzzle box and had a nice time playing with it. I gave her a dental treat when she was done as a reward. I hope this is a trend. She could use both the physical and mental excercise.
2nd Update: At 10PM, I realized I haven't coughed in hours, and I hadn't come close to blacking out from lack of oxygen since yesterday. 17 hours previous, the cough was nigh constant. I have not gone this long without coughing since December. Antibiotics are magic. Let's stop feeding them to cattle to make them fat and save them so they can keep killing illnesses.

* Oh. My. God! I am so excited for this year's women's gymnastic team! Simone Bines is a Goddess! Gabby Douglas made it back on in spite of injuries! Aly's going make another attempt at the medal she was robbed of in London! Lauren Hernandez is brilliant and when her Mom started crying I started crying! I know it's stupid to be this emotionally invested in a cannibal sport, but there is something amazing about watching something so beautiful and so close to the edge of what is humanly possible. I know all the things wrong with the Rio Olympics, including the shitastic politics there that robbed teachers and other hard working people of a living wage to build venues that are going to be crumbling wrecks in four years, the health concerns, the safety concerns, and all the rest of it, but still, it is hard not to get excited about seeing all the gymnastics competitions.
* I made another attempt at the lilies, as I’m not sure it’s clear that they are taller than I am. It is also very Morticia Addams and Cleopatra and/or Seymour and Audrey II out there. They grab at me with their leaves when I water them. When I came in, I realized they had dripped resin all over my head.
