* Hector's fever is lower, he attacked me repeatedly in my sleep, he's eaten most of a can of chicken and liver in the course of the evening (though some of it came back up), and actuallyused the litter box, which means his kidneys are likely still working. *fingers crossed for an infection given the alternative*

No podcast today, just socializing. My nails did not work out well this time due to time constraints, alas, though the purple suits me.

* The men's short programs at Barcelona: Patrick Chan was rather a disappointment with a heartbreakingly rough skate, to my sorrow and I'm sure his, but he took time off after Sochi, and there is hope of his getting his grove back. Uno skated really well and likely has an excellent future ahead of him, even though he's a little rough around the edges still. He's just up from juniors and a little seasoning will show him off to effect. Jin Boyang was not as crisp as at the NHK, alas, but he was still a joy to watch. Javier Fernandez fell early and was subtly off the rest of his program, which is a shame because it is a beautiful program and he's such a delightful performer. Hanyu though... elegant and sublime and technically excellent. It gave me goosebumps to watch that level of grace and perfection. It was balletic in the truest sense: incredibly moving and right at the edge of what a human body can do, but with all the effort making that beauty hidden behind the performance. It was almost unreal it was so good. He's earned the highest score ever, and deservedly so. It was magical to watch.

* I was so angry about them gutting Dorne and replacing it with nonsense and the Winterfell abomination and them turning Kingslanding into nonsense and the rest (I miss you kings Moot!), that I likely didn't mention how deeply I was disappointed by them ruining Sam's arc and them dumping the Sam political maneuvers in favour of the cliche and less dramatic Lord Commander election in the show. Them turning Jon to brainless cardboard makes me sad, but them replacing book Sam and his arc with a dudebro of the same name and eviscerating his story... Sigh. I was really looking forward to Sam coming into his own politically and the personal arc.
