* The new meds regime bought me four hours of sleep. I woke to find I am already sick from my allergy to prednisone, which doesn't surprise me at all. I do not know how bad it's going to get, as this is a tiny dose and it's been over twenty years since the other time. It is bad enough I'm already having trouble with basic functioning. If I drop stitches as it were, it's because I'm having trouble with things like stringing sentences together, keeping the prednisone shakes from interfering with things like typing, and sitting up. Unfortunately, lying down isn't an option either with these lungs as I'm already having to take way more drugs than I'm comfortable with to win four hours of prone breathing and I'm not willing to do more than that in a 24 hour period.
They have postponed the dolphin festival until March for me, which is terribly sweet of them, especially as I didn't ask them to, having thought at the time (Friday evening) that I'd be together enough to run my first event today. They cleverly saw better than I. No way am I well enough for one on one, let along the mental and physical demands of events. It is taking a frustrating long time just putting this together.
I fucking hate prednisone. I took the second pill anyway. Two more days of this to go.
Anyway, I apologize in advance for the commitments online and off that I am likely about to blow off by accident and what is likely to be shitty service in my feed. I can't remember exactly how long it took me to recover last time. I think I missed a week or so of work, but different doses and a was still an athlete then.
* Tavy Button and I were watching Mandiba, with him draped across my leg for pettins after dinner. He was scared when the men with dogs came for Nelson Mandela, all wide eyed and poised for flight. I stroked his back and did blinky eyes at him, and he blinked back and relaxed. That is trust.
* The worst thing with prednisone for me is the combination of dizziness, heart palpitations, and extreme weakness. (I am not kidding when I say this is a drug i am really, really not supposed to be on and did not consent to lightly). There is a reason that even the very short trip to the bathroom is an exhausting ordeal when I am on it. A very kind Internet has sent me what looks like two or three days worth of Thai food via Vikingfoods, for which I am incredibly grateful. Thank you, my benefactor! It is a huge load off my mind that I won't have to cook like this.
