Oct. 28th, 2013 04:18 am* A car carrying three people has crashed a security barrier at Tienanmen Square and burst into flame. Chinese security shut things down fast and as of this writing it is unknown if this is an accident or whether a planned protest. Those of you too young to remember or have heard about the Tienanmen Square Protests and the brutal crack down on the unarmed protests might not get why people suspect the incident is a protest and might want to google it.

* The sleep dep is getting crippling. Since Friday the robo calls for the election I already voted in started stealing my sleep, plus Hector's been anxious and manic the two and a half weeks, which means he steals sleep, often aggressively. Today Hector and the robocalls tag teamed me. Oh, and I'm either relapsing from the thing I was recovering from, or I've caught something new. Either way, Squirrel and I both feel like crap. oh, and I'm having one of my med cycle based physical inconvenience that went acute while I was GMing.
The pie turned out edible, though ugly and incorrectly textured. I hadn't made shoefly pie in something like seven years and I'd forgotten the trick to it. Next time, I'll do it right.

The final wing contained a battle between mind controlled Ratkin and Frankenshifters vs. Ratkin with strong Willpower. Our guys and a wolf ack relieved the wounded and started knocking out the confused. Shepard countered the effect eventually. They tended the wounded. The door seperating the conditioning wing from the servent's quarters was ajar. Inside where the enslaved ghosts of the dead who attacked. Skull and Tiger (now named KarKarkadann) held off the shadows with the wolves, while Gwallog dug up the reinforced floor to reveal a scroll which Fu Ling froze and crushed, freeing not only these ghosts, but those lying in wait ahead. The battle that distracted the other Shifters in the Mage Residential Wing was caused by Frankenshifters and possessed Ratkins hitting the rear guard as the vanguard was fighting the mages.)
After, Skull helped sort Frankenshifters into whatever species was dominant in the beast. The wolves dispatched theirs promptly along with their victims of withering. The Ratkin and cats carted theirs away. They all looted the Chantry. Later at a humus joint, they divided the spoils among allies. Our Shifters got invited to a Moot. Some of the mage's clothes were taken by the shifter allies to track the surviving mages.
* Some people watch figure skating for the falls, the way some people watch NASCAR for the crashes. Some people watch figure skating just for the jumps. I am one of those people who watch it the way I watch ballet. There is something magical about the mix of athleticism and shear beauty when it's done right. I love the jumps, sure, but I love the rest of it too. I approve of the "new" scoring system. (It's been in place for quite a while now, but it will always be the new scoring system to me unless they replace it.) I love that encourages skaters to be more rounded. I don't watch skating as much as I used to. (It's to do with not having a TV schedule to check every night for competitions, not lack of interest). I do not know all the skater's individual styles and biographies anymore, but oh do I love what I've seen of this year's crop and I still wince when one whiffs.
