* On the Chicago Teacher's Strike. (I support the Strike, BTW. The things they want are actually good for the kids and teachers both).
* This does a good job of explaining the history and circumstances of the strike and why it's important:
* Teachers, Unions and Real World Schools:
* "Black Trans History-Jim McHarris:" http://transgriot.blogspot.com/2012/09/black-trans-history-jim-mcharris.html
* I haven't forgotten Solstice readings. The reason I advertised early was because my health and energy are uncertain. I'll start doing them once I'm better. To my surprise, all my BPALS sold. Now yo package and mail them.
* Today was my last meet up with my BPAL buddy before he goes back to school. She was kind enough to gift me Siberian Musk for my birthday! I'll be playing with that tomorrow. I'm still icky from the flu shot and now over caffeinated from the meet up. We're getting inspected on the third, so I need to start straightening now and do the last bits of unpacking etc.. I hate that because I'm poor, I have no privacy. Anyway, I came home to find vomit everywhere, including my bed. (I've got them trained not to throw up there when I'm in it, but when I'm out all bets are off). So, despite being tired, in pain, and with stuffed up sinuses, there was cleaning to do before I could settle in for meds and pack up the ebay stuff. To my surprise, everything sold. O.o Even the Christmas in the Counting House which no one ever wants. Luckily, Hector was there to howl at me, just like he's been doing in my sleep.
* What have I been reading? The first Blood Lite Anthology had a higher things iI didn't like to things I did like ratio with two stories I rather wish I hadn't read. Two and three were much better. I also read The way We Fall, an excellent page turner of a YA epidemic novel that takes place in the Martimes. Bonus points for the brave, intelligent and stalwart main character being a young woman of colour. I thoroughly recommend it. If you are interested at all in plague novels, or post-apocalyptic type stuff (the island is quarantined and thus cut off).
* Doctor Who: Wow, Matt Smith was channeling Christopher Eccleston last night, wasn't he?
* Leverage: OMG, Agent Tennent and Agent Smith! I love their aliases.
* "Glee: One sweater-vest, five tons of conjecture:" http://lettersfromtitan.com/2012/09/16/glee-one-sweater-vest-five-tons-of-conjecture/
