* An Iraqi American woman who helped train American soldiers for deployment was murdered by someone who left a note accusing the mother of five of being a terrorist.

* Louisiana: Santorum 49%, Romney 27%, Gingrich 16%, Paul 6%

* Mythbuster Adam Savage's remarks at the rally (Warning, it's amature video as official footage was hard to find): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rDyBZwwZWYk

"I believe that rules do not make us moral; loving each other makes us moral."

May I add, this is the kind of fucked up shit I've been complaining about for years, as anyone who's hear my "Dick Button is a body policing douchebag" rant can attest to. Body policing is never okay.

* I think Everybody Sees the Ants may be as important as Speak in helping teenagers, even though they never say the word "rape." I wish I could put this book into every school library in the country.

* The cats and I stayed in bed for hours while I read and gave pettins. It always wears me out when Hector spends the first three hours of my sleep cycle howling inconsolably. This has been a brutal year psychiatrically on him. I keep giving him laxatives and anxiety medicine. I know, it sounds funny to treat PTSd with laxatives, but when he's not coping, he grooms himself bald, which causes intestinal issues, which stresses him out more, which leads to overgrooming, which... You get, it, vicious cycle, so these days when he starts acting out, he gets laxatives with his psych meds. It's all band aids really. I have lost track of how many days this new routine has gone on, with the howling and the refusing to come to bed.

* I was cooking while watching Classic Who, and the noise I was making muffled the dialog. I know that Pertwee was talking about Nestines, but I heard the Dotor warning that the Master was about to "open a channel to the lesbians" which led me to imagine the 11th Doctor casually referencing the Great Lesbian Invasion of 1971....

* I keep struggling with how to frame my deep thinky thoughts on racism and rape motifs in the random batch of silent films I'm working through just now. So far I've failed to find the right way to frame them.

* On a much lighter note, I simply can't take seriously as a romantic lead a man who rails against pogo stick races as proof that our civilization is in decline and on the verge of collapse. Just saying.
