gwydion* Michelle Bachmann continues to cruelly harass Huma Abedin, claiming that she's a terrorist and traitor based entirely on her ethnicity and unfounded claims by a hate group. She continues to libel this woman without producing a shred of credible evidence. She is also accusing Congressman Keith Ellison of being a terrorist on the grounds that he's a Muslim and she believes all Muslims are terrorists. He does not support the Muslim Brotherhood, but she insists he's a member despite a complete lack of proof. * Republicans want to remind you that despite copious evidence like several years in a row of record highs all over the country, extreme weather conditions, melting glaciers, rising sea levels, the prevalence of low humidity caused out of control wildfires, and the fact that 64% of the country is experiencing severe drought, Climate Change is still a myth. After all, what are you going to believe, actual facts or propaganda put out by big business intended to protect profits and their right to pollute? The propaganda, obviously. After all, investing in alternate energy would be both good for the economy and the environment and we can't have that as the most profitable industry in the history of the world, the oil industry, doesn't want it and who cares about any other interests than theirs? Similarly, who cares if people have to slaughter their herds, crops dry up, and low lying island nations are eaten by the sea. None of those things effect the rich as they will be able to afford food no matter what shortages occur and can always afford to buy land away from the damage, and only the interests of the very rich should be taken into account when examining scientific evidence. All evidence not fitting that agenda should be ignored.
* In response to Rush Limbaugh's claims that President Obama traveled back in time a couple of decades to make Bane a batman villain so that the current movie just being released which has been in planning and production for several years would serve as an attack on Mitt Romney, the delightful and talented Morgan Freeman (who is in the movie) has donated $1 million dollars to the President's campaign fund. Mr. Limbaugh is now lying about his remarks about the President's decades long conspiracy to discredit Romney, and claiming he never said what the tapes show him saying. Of course. I love Morgan Freeman. Have I mentioned that lately?

* I am technically supposed to be a genius, but I'm clearly not bright enough to fill out these forms I've been sent. I did get a little further, but I've hit a section where I literally wish I had a lawyer or accountant to help me figure out what they actually want. I'm thinking I should go out on a paper hunt tomorrow, which will speed up another section, but I really wish I knew someone who spoke legalese, medical form, and accountant jargon. For example, I know they want a particular number but I can't tell which of two slots it goes in. Do they want net or gross in this slot? They don't say. Which of these things counts as a premium? How about these over here? My mental faculties are intact yet I'm not bright enough to fill these things out without directions that don't exist; how are the folks that were in our cohort meeting doing when they weren't able to follow the really easy parts of the walk through when we were enrolled in the program? A lot of them are elderly or have intellectual challenges or other disabilities that would make this hugely exhausting or discouraging. If I can't do this, what the fuck are they doing?
* I'm leaning toward sick plus allergies. The headache is constant and bad for concentration, and the particular collection of other symptoms is looking more like sck than the other likely causes when looked at in aggregate. Sigh.
* On tumblr, the e. coli picture keeps getting reblogged and has crossed the language barrier into Russian. I just find it amusing that the most popular thing I have posted by far is a pretty picture of a pathogen. It's oddly fitting really: My bacteria may go viral! Look, I never said I wasn't a dork.
* Fish update: I figured out why the air pumps weren't doing as well as I remembered. (Technical glitch in one took half an hour to figure out wtf; the other under performer was clearly a case of the pump being nearly worn out, but I found a healthier pump in my box of random second hand fish gear). The good news is, the long tank suckermouth is noticeably happier. Added to my list of things to buy eventually is more wands for the other tanks that would benefit. Wands are way better than stones, which I figured out ages ago, but upgrading is a slow process.
