gwydion* The Tennessee tea party is demanding they remove all mention of slave ownership by the founding fathers a well as any mention of non-white folks in the history books used to teach children. I'm at a loss for words as to how fucked up that is.
* Mr. Boehner went on the air to attack the president's speech as "pathetic" before he even gave it. It seems so cartoonishly assholish and closed minded, I'm having trouble framing the associated rant.
* I don't know if I mentioned the President has made it so insurance covers birth control. I just wanted to say, thank you, Mr. President, especially at a time when a majority of republican Presidential candidates are advocating outlawing it entirely. I suspect this is yet another thing he won't get credit for, but that makes a huge difference to ordinary folk who work for a living.

What would Jesus do? Threaten to beat up and rape a sixteen year old, apparently.
* Greenwick and I watched the President's speech, and were impressed by how much substance was in there. It's a shame there is no chance of the economic and tax measures passing.
* Unpacking wise, I'm down to the following: 1. big box of fish things needing to be sorted and tested with electricity and water. 2. Several small collections of papers, office supplies, etc. 3. hanging more pictures. 4. Things needing to go to storage or Goodwill waiting until I have access to a car. 5. Retrenching/resorting in various locations in my bedroom, office, and living room.
