* North Korea has stepped up missile testing. South Korean soldiers along the border are on high alert. North Korea has increased guards along the Chinese border. None of this is unexpected, given the instability of this transition.

* Newt Gingrich is now saying that not only should any judges he disagrees with should have their courts abolished, but they should be rounded up and arrested as part of a massive purge he plans for if he's elected. Of course the judges of the ninth court of apeals are on his list. After all, the Constitution shouldn't get away of his grab for extreme executive power and the establishment of an independent judiciary, right? This is so radical it's turning the clock back three or four hundred years. O.o

* Ron Paul is now the frontrunner in Iowa, despite the right wing media ignoring him as much as they can get away with. Y'all know my long standing opinion that Ron Paul seems to be a nice man who is fundamentally wrong about human nature, psychology, and the way policy and reality collide.

* In the wikileaks case they are now claiming "gender confusion" and the resulting "instability" is why Bradley Manning did it. *headdesk* So much fucking fail there, I have no words.

* Things went off smoother than I had any right to expect. I came home to find out someone had vomited in my bed. Sigh. Then I found other places vomiting had occurred, little surprises found piece meal. The cats are over stimulated. Not only did I medicate them, not only was there a grand decanting of the kibble, but I unexpectedly opened what they thought was a window and they discovered it was a door! O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay! Cats tried to rush the door and trying to drag the planters out onto the back porch without losing any of them was quite the struggle. Eventually, Mache and the Butt wound down for a nice cuddle on my bed, leaving the white cats to play complex political games in the big room.

I'm still chipping at the box maze. Yesterday, I discovered that the book shelf I'd hope would fit in a certain spot does, which helps immensely. I've still got one bookshelf that fits perfectly in the spot it's in in my room, and looks good there, but should functionally be in the living room, and there are two other things could go in that spot I'd like there better. That won't be sorted until more boxes are gone, though, so a final configuration is not settled. I'm starting to antsy about not having things on the wall, which generally goes last. I may crack and do my room just for sleeping comfort.
