Oct. 16th, 2011 03:55 am* Tomorrow's Flight is cancelled. We are rebooking when we have the funeral date, likely later in the week.
* I can tell the antibiotics are working. They won't stop the underlying viral infection, but the inevitable ear infection and incipient bronchitis are beating a fast retreat. yes, normally they wait until you have full blown bronchitis. Basically, once I start collecting goo in my lungs, bacteria starts breeding in there and my already distracted immune system does a crap job of fighting the two infections off at once. The ear infection was full blown, also inevitable once goo collects in quantity in the tubes. Killing off the bacteria lets my immune system go back to it's primary job of eating various body parts it thinks are extraneous and the virus. My immune system is rather like a very aggressive drunk in a bar room brawl, swinging wildly at all and sundry, buddies and enemies alike. As a result, I'm an exception to the rule about when to administer antibiotics. We do still wait for the early infection signs, but your doctor would quite rightly wait three or four days longer than mine does. In this case, there was simply no point in doing ear antibiotics when we knew I'd be starting oral ones in a day or two.
I rather wish I had the money for magic soup, but we're going to need every penny if we're moving and I still have no clue how we are managing it.

Date: 2011-10-17 12:02 am (UTC)Oh, and I ordered some of BPAL's Port Au Prince for you, not realizing that it can take several weeks to actually get the order. I ordered it early in the month, so it hopefully won't be too belated a gift.

Date: 2011-10-17 02:42 am (UTC)It's sweet of you to buy the Port au Prince. I have an offer to finance soup coming in. Your offer of the van would be a huge hekllp on logistics, especially if it comes with more hands to move furniture with.
Do you want to come over Tuesday after all? I can't stay up too late, but a few hours of company wouldn't go amiss.
