gwydion* Y'all know I'm no fan of the HRC for throwing the trans folk under the bus, etc., but I did love the President's speech to them. It's good to hear a statement of principle like that. Let's hope the future lives up to it.
* Many of you have seen me refering to the state of Texas as being particularly bad for trans folk from a legal perspective. I give you: "Nikki Araguz vs. The State:" http://www.out.com/detail.asp?id=31581

* I had to kick Hector out. The Butt was asleep on my bed and i was too out of it to think of this. Several hours later the poor little guy needed to use the box. Oh, the plaintive meeping, "Trapped! Trapped!" Then came the girls, "Are we still in the clowder?" Pettins and reassurance, "That's all good then." Hector: "Starving! starving to death!" The Butt, "in the room! Out of the room! in the room! Out of the room! Look at me! In! Out! In! Out!" Oh the excitement. hector continues breaking all my keepsakes and nick nacks for no obvious reason at the rate of several a day. I'm likely going to have to through many out as some have shattered. He's a destructive
* Mom's in the hospital again, mostly over the ongoing oxygen supply drama. She's feeling crappy, but there is no immediate risk of death.
* I've exhausted most of the phone options on the apartment search. Tomorrow is beginning of the month errands, so i simply may not have enough left for searching, but I think the next step will be driving around the neighborhood and writing down slumlord phone numbers and complex names on buildings with vacancies, so I can call and see if any are the right size/price. Sigh. oh, and I have a lung infection to top it off.
* What have i been reading? More Sharpes, Sherman Alexie's mesmerizing Flight, a Sharon McCrumb, and I just started Twisted, but have no opinion as yet. Where am i in B5? I just finished the movies. The two I was most interested on seeing again were "In the Beginning" and "A call to Arms." it's not that there's anything wrong with the others, just that these were the important ones from an arc/mythology angle. I'll be futzing around with extras before starting Crusade.
