* The Democrats tried to get the Republicans to vote to raise the debt ceiling by offering them a business tax cut. The Republicans said that the lack of even more tax cuts for the wealthy and the democratic refusal to aboolish Medicare is causing "too much uncertainty in the business community" so they can't vote for it, even though the thing currently causing uncertainty in the business community is the Republican plan to cause a world wide financial crisis by not raising the debt ceiling and thus causing the Us to default on it's loans. *head desk* I must ask again, stupid or malicious? Because it pretty much has to be one or the other.

* Two Midwest nuclear reactors are now surrounded by flood waters, protected only by aqua dams. The Fort Calhoun reactor's aqua dam was accidentally breached by heavy equipment moving sand, and the dam collapsed. Two feet of water passed the cement barrier and knocked out primary electricity. Luckily the back up generators worked and they were able to pump out the electrical plant. The barriers have been repaired. Of course, the flooding continues.

* Michele "kindergarteners should get jobs instead of free school lunches" "we need official investigations of the unamerican activities of Democrats in Congress" Bachmann is officially in the presidential race. (I still am waiting for the press to ask her exactly what jobs she thinks primary school kids can get that pay well enough to support them independently, but I'm not holding my breath there.) Today she gave a speech praising a town for being the birth place of John Wayne Gacy. *facepalm* The personal financial hypocrisy is already breaking news.

* Rod Blagojevich has been found guilty on most of the counts, including shaking down a children's hospital. Sentencing to follow. I believe he is a sociopath, and the more of those off the streets, the better.

* In Syria, children continue to be tortured and murdered by the government along with other unarmed civilians. Peaceful student protestors keep being beaten and shot. Government agents continue to arrest people found looking for help in hospitals. People attempting to retrieve the dead and wounded continue to be shot. Refugee camps in Turkey continue to swell. The government continues to flat out deny they are torturing and killing unarmed civilians and children, despite a plethora of footage of them doing just that. I do not think there is much to be done except continue to be witnesses so that the lies can not be taken for truth. That's why I keep mentioning it, even though there is nothing really new, incredibly brave women and men are risking their lives to get footage out. The bravery and sacrifice of so many Syrian civilians shouldn't be forgotten.

* In yet more TSA assaults on dignity, they are now hand inspecting the contents of adult diapers. Charming. The victim was a ninety five year old cancer patient in a wheelchair who had to take it off to get on the plane. They are saying it's policy and they are going to keep doing it. I'm still angry at them for ripping the stoma bag off a man and forcing him to fly in his own filth a while back, and for the time they forced a woman to take pliers to her nipple piercing. This stuff is not okay.

* The brave Republicans who voted for gay marriage in new york are are already under fire. I wish I had money to send them.

* My brain is okay, looks like. No tumors, no MS. I was only ten minutes late for check in on my next appointment, so they let me in. i did all but one of the errands, and even forced myself to swim despite the only 3 1/2 hours of sleep.

The report I saw was that Bachmann named the wrong town for John Wayne's birthplace, I didn't hear anything about John Wayne Gacy.

As for the Republicans, I vote for stupid and malicious, they so often go hand in hand.

Well, the only famous John Wayne from the town she was standing in was John Wayne Gacy.

She has also claimed John Quincy Adams was a founding father. It's like she's trying to give Palin a run for her money on the "don't know nothing about history" front.
