* 4500+ people have died of ebola in west Africa. It is disrupting farming and food deliveries, causing food shortages. Malaria season is starting. Things are getting desperate in Liberia and parts of Sierra Leone, even if you leave out the direct effects of the epidemic. Food shortage always makes disease mortality worse, BTW.
