Feb. 21st, 2014 07:35 pm* Wow! The Ukrainian Parliament continued to stand firm against the President,voting in multiple measures, including going back to he 2004 Constitution, freeing one of Yanukovych's political rivals whom he had imprisoned for two years, and calling for elections in December. The troops have withdrawn from Independence Square, and politicians are defecting from the President's political party in droves. People are calling for Yanukovych's government to pay for crimes they perpetrated while in office.

* In Arizona, people are protesting against a law designed to deny LGBT people accommodation, the ability to buy things in stores, and most importantly public services their tax dollars pay for such as police, fire, and emergency medical care. Republicans insist imposing this draconian law denying basic human rights to LGBT people is necessary because Jesus. After all, they insist Jesus is a God of hate and bigotry who was firmly against healing the sick, etc., and the Christian requirement to hate and discriminate trumps civil and human rights of groups they have chosen to hate in Jesus' name even though there is nothing in the New Testament to that effect. As of this writing Jan Brewer had not signed the new segregation statute into law, but given her history, I haven't much hope of her vetoing it.
