* Today's task was for me to finish sorting a car load of offsite boxes and for us to go get another load. It ended up being more like a half load, alas. I have a massive amount of laundry to do as I found my other gigantic boxes of blankets and linens. A whole bunch of things are getting given away to various people or to charity. Note to self: bring lanterns next time. I am wet and exhausted.

* Chris Christie wants to remind you that he's the real victim in the bridge scandal, not all the people harmed or endangered by the petty vindictiveness of his administration. After all which is worse to be humiliated for being responsible for this terrible thing or to be have your ambulance delayed in a medical emergency. Obviously Chris Christies Sad trumps the lady who died of a heart attack right?

* I'm pretty sure I posted these before, but it's a good reminder. I get extra screening two out of three check points for being disabled and they always send me through the full body scanner if they have one. (One or more of pat down, body scanner, luggage search by hand, checking shoes for explosives or pawing through all my meds. I am not claiming this is anywhere near as bad as the harassment brown people get trying to fly, but the TSA are notorious jerks when it comes to their treatment of passengers with disabilities. Remember that oor bastard who's stoma bag they ripped off, forcing his to fly soaked in his own filth? Yeah). Given the level of suspicion I already face, I don't bother with prosthetics or trans specific meds, since I sometimes have to go through the whole meds list and justify each drug. I live in a state where it's easy to match up ID, which I know is a privilege. I also travel as light as I can get away with. I still have to allow time for extra security screening. I have no fear of flying, but I worry plenty about the TSA capriciously stranding me mid trip for being "suspicious" for being disabled and/or trans. Anyway, "How TSA treats transgender travelers:" http://sdgln.com/entertainment/2014/01/10/how-tsa-treats-transgender-travelers#sthash.RgKcYQ9j.quEr6A9Z.dpbs

* The first of the new goosh went over so well that it was gone in 15 minutes with only two cats scarfing it up. I'm calling it "Mixed Birds" in my head as the real name is a long list of healthy ingredients. Omnomnom! Say the cats. The mixed fish with salmon did not go over as well. I was a bit worried that would be the case. They are not fond of salmon. They will eat it, but not as enthusiastically.

A couple minutes before game, Squirrel staggered out an announced he was sick. I grabbed game stuff, snacks and some extra bath and meds and met Blake player at the door. He waited for the boys and I headed over to the new place to do game there. Luckily, I had enough lawn chairs and little folding tables already in residence for the four of us. (Skull's player was also sick). After, I managed to clear enough space in the kitchen by dint of unpacking and food tetris that I can theoretically cook there. That doesn't mean things are properly put away. I've got a lot of things hanging out on counters, but most of it is in cabinets or on shelves. I have more kitchen stuff to unpack, but I can actually reach cabinets, yay!

Today I let my landlord know we will be out by the end of February. (I still haven't heard back from the movers and I want lots of time for cleaning after the big furniture goes). Rent here is $24.00 since November (Down from $365). It's worth it to make sure I can schedule movers and clean properly before we leave. Today, I'm picking the bones in my old room, as it were and if I have energy left, I'll work some more on my office area. If I'm up to it, I'll work more on getting my office packed.

We are switching the Internet Wednesday instead, most likely, as that's when I can get people to move my old mattress into Squirrel's new room and it will give Squirrel more time to rest up.

* China's got warships patrolling those uninhabited islands, just like Japan is. It's getting scary, folks.

* Turkey, fed up with Syria shooting across the country to kill and injure folks on the Turkish side of the border, has passed a measure to allow the government to send forces across the border at short notice in retaliation for any future attacks. I don’t blame them, honestly, and the surprise is it hasn’t happened sooner. Syria has been using artillery against a Turkish town with five dead: a mother, her children, and a policeman and now Turkey is bombarding back, possibly forcing the evacuation of the military outpost responsible for the most recent attack on Turkey.

* There is an outbreak of deadly meningitis across six states with 35 sick and five dead.

It's as if he doesn't understand that retired folks paid in their whole working lives and that People working low paid jobs still pay taxes but we've decided not to increase the minimum wage to match the cost of living so that you can work full time and still not make rent, or that we decided that the folks fighting in Afghanistan had enough on their plates without taking time out to file tax documents. These are the 47% he's attacking in this clip. I do not understand where someone as rich as he is gets off insisting that all someone working two crappy minimum wage job needs is a third job, or that 90 year olds should come out of retirement regardless of their health. If he doesn't know who the 47% he is attacking are, than it seems to me that he has no business being in Congress let alone running for Vice President. That level of profound ignorance about the lives of nearly half of the country should be a dis-qualifier for any public office in a reasonable civilization. The pertinent bit starts about 3:45.:

* I know this sounds weird, but it feels like I just moved in here for real this week. I think it's having the last few boxes squared away and the pictures up. I keep peering about thinking "Home!" I got decent sleep, then headed out for beginning of the month errands. I had to drop three things from the list because everything took way longer than it needed to. For example, a fifteen minute stop in to quick pick up a last few things for the tea box turned into an hour. O.o The registers needed resetting at the grocery store stopping all the check out lines cold. *facepalm* It was a productive trip though, as I did the most be done now things and unloaded stuff for storage.

The weird: Not only did five women do social flirting with me, but two women of a certain age tried to pick me up. O.o I get the social pro forma flirting anyone in customer service does. I get the old guy flirting (which has different rules than I'm used to, but I'm working on picking up). I get the occasional lesbian taking me for a butch lesbian and trying to pick me up. I just can't imagine being a straight woman seeing my flamboyant ambiguous ass and thinking, "I think I'll settle for that," but then Michelle Bachmann married Mr. Bachmann on purpose, so I guess if a lady is desperate.... Don't worry, I was polite. Inside my head I was seized with a sense of unreality. Is she coming on to me? Oh my god, she's coming on to me! I felt a little bad about it, as I don't like writing checks I can't cash. At the same time, I was seriously impressed by the one lady's technique, fishing to find out if I was seeing anyone without me catching on except in retrospect, then sliding casually into the pitch. That was some serious varsity stuff.
