Jul. 6th, 2011 01:01 am* I've heard about what Rupurt Murdoch's News of the World did, and i hope that charges are filed. hacking phones is not acceptable, doubly so when they did it in a way that interferes wiith criminal investigations, and made friends and families of the dead think their loved ones might have been still alive. that last is so evil there are no words. The press' right to know does not include the right to hack a thirteen year old victim of kidnap and murder's phone to listen to and erase messages. I can only imagine what her family felt when they saw her phone had been accessed. I've done that long horrible wait, and I really do think the word evil applies to the douchebags interfering with the investigation and raising the family's hopes for their scoop. I find I can't think of a word obscene enough for Rupurt Murdoch and his tabloid.
* Hector slept through this evening's first firework barrage. I think all the fans helped mute it a little, and he was all tuckered out from the stress. The louder, second barrage startled him, but was short and he managed to stay put. The third, rather extended barrage upset everyone but Mache. I hope they run out of fireworks faster than last year.
* One of the the things I like about White Collar, besides Mozzie in his entirety, is that Mrs. Suit, Diana's lady, and Neil's insurance investigator are intelligent, competent, have lives of their own, and a spirit of adventure when it comes to what their partners do for a living. So many other shows make the partners into baggage or occasions for melodrama, where WC makes them seem like real people in viable relationships.
* I am bummed out that I shall miss Torchwood season 4, as we don't get the right channel. Please, those of you who can see it, please spoiler cut for the rest of us?
