May. 6th, 2011 02:30 am* I'm mostly finished the Enchantment Emporium. It grew on me enough I'll likely read more, though I admit, I'd still rather another Smoke series book. Sigh.
* The were giving out free samples of some European warm cereal, so I took it home to experiment. It's moments like this I am reminded of how different I am from normal people, as I'm pretty sure it couldn't possibly smell like crushed beetles to everyone else. That's how my nose parsed it, and as the stink filled about a third of the house, I ended up making sauerkraut and sweet biscuits to drown it out.
* Hector is still wearing me out. I wish he'd just learn to sleep when he's tired and eat when he's hungry instead of all this over the top drama.
* Today I started tank cleaning for the first time after surgery. I still need to be careful of injury, but it's in the soft scar phase, so I think the infection risk is done.
* I see the right wing press is going ballistic over Obama visiting the World Trade center site. (I refuse to call it Ground zero, as that's for nuclear weapons, none of which were used that day. As horrible as the damage and loss of life was, look at what we did to Hiroshima and Nagasaki and tell me it's the same. Go on. I'll wait). Anyway, I'm betting if he hadn't gone, they'd be just as vitriolic.

* Today, the House Republicans blocked a stand alone attempt to repeal oil subsidies. They also voted to loosen regulations on drilling, as it's not like there have been any recent drilling disasters, right? I mean, if not enough regulations gave us the huge Gulf Oil spill, think how much safer it will be if we remove even more safety regulations!

* BTW, I'm completely in agreement with the gentleman on Colbert tonight, that Lizzie Bordon was innocent. The evidence points to an extremely violent relative of theirs. nothing in history is 100% provable, but I'd have aquitted her, just like the jury did. Just saying.
