* I don't generally bother with cop shows, but I have to admit, Chicago Code's won me over, mostly because it feels like an indie film, with focus on characterization and a more realistic feel. I still get dissonance from it being season reversed with reality, but it's a small quibble. The only large complaint is that it's not as diverse as I'd like.

* They've declassified the last of the US WWI documents. Alas, there was no ejaculate among the invisible ink options like the Brits used.

* Don't worry, BP, Transocean, and Haliburtan were not financially harmed by the oil spill they caused in the gulf and they have successfully stopped all attempts to tighten regulations or require a redesign of blowout presenters so that they prevent blow outs. They are having no trouble getting more deep water drilling rigs rubber stamped by the Administration, which has agreed to stop announcing the permits due to all those protests by people who inexplicably want to prevent future spills. After all, we wouldn't want to learn from experience as reality has a well known liberal bias and should therefore be ignored as partizan, especially when so much is at stake.

Meanwhile there is no plan to clean the marshes or the barrier islands further, despite the large quantity of oil still in the delta and the gulf.

Luckily, only people, animals, fish, the environment, the Ocean, and small businesses were harmed and continue to be harmed by the disaster, so no one of importance from a Republican perspective was damaged. After all, when the Republicans say small business owners, they mean trillionares, not actual small business owners, who are not actually people, but the republican definition.

* I was allowed to take off the surgical bandages yesterday and am working with a smaller, less irritating light bandage. I've been off the serious meds since the we hours Sunday/Monday. I am, inevitably coming down with something. sigh. i still have a huge paperwork packet I need to sort out for the neurosurgeon.

* I just watched season three of the SJA last weekend in one of those painful coincidences. It's hard to get my head around Elizabeth Sladen being not out in the world being awesome. This got me where I live: http://www.dorktower.com/images/comics/DorkTower942.gif

I keep poking at why this his me so hard. I think part of why it's so startling is she seemed so vibrant and alive on SJA, and part of it is the way her character always symbolized decency and hope.

How sad that the first comment boils down to, "but what about the straight people!" Sigh.
