* Republicans are now demanding the EPA be barred from interfering with green house gas/pollution production from stationary sources (factories). They are holding firm on complete defunding of Planned Parenthood, the only source of health care for most low income women. Obama's looking to hold firm against it. Fingers crossed.

If Republicans are so against women having an option to have Abortions, why are they so against people getting age appropriate to sex ed and reasonably priced birth control (which Planned Parenthood supplies in quantity to low income women)? Under Clinton, when there was good sex ed in public schools and Planned Parenthood had good funding, the teen pregnancy rate was the lowest it had been in decades and so was the abortion rates. Once the Bush cuts and the serious abstinence only push started, the numbers started climbing dramatically. We know how to limit abortions, but the Republicans are doing everything in their power to ensure more and more people need them.

* The Republicans are also demanding that public schools provide fewer fresh fruits and vegetables to children. After all, the first lady is in favor of more nutritional meals in public schools, so it must be bad, right? Too bad if it decreases the chances of children being healthy. If it punishes the poor and middle class while giving the finger to the first lady, it's all to the good. After all, they need to pay for those tax cuts to the ultra rich and corporations, the only citizens that matter.

* A tea box came today. I've been busy sorting that out.

* If the government shuts down, the Postal workers, etc. won't get paid, but don't worry, the Congress people who refuse to negotiate will get their pay checks. After all, that's the really important thing, right? Two bad if people get assessed fines by land lords for late payment or get evicted because their pay checks aren't coming. Congress gets paid regardless.

* Gordon Ramsey has really overstayed his fifteen minutes. Could people please stop broadcasting his nastiness?

* The aftershocks in Japan have often been big enough to be destructive in their own right. The latest one was 7.2. There have been injuries, but luckily the feared tsunami did not come. I can't even begin to imagine how scary it must have been for folks along the coast line.

* Don't worry, the Republicans want you to know that they are dismantling our earthquake and tsunami warning systems to pay for even more corporate welfare and tax cuts for the rich. Too bad if you live on the west coast or Hawaii.

* It's sounding like there's been a bad NATO friendly fire incident in Libya. Reports are rather confused, and there's been a retreat.
